All for the tea, scones, and dainty sweets; I was pleasantly surprised by Pan Pacific Singapore’s Atrium Japanese-Inspired Afternoon Tea menu ($44++/ per pax)! Available till 31 March, the offerings served on their iconic three-tiered tray were right up my alley with my favourites being their Salmon Quiche, Smoked Trout Nori Sandwich, Citrus Raspberry Matcha Entremet, Matcha Azuki Monaka, and Sudachi Tart.
Topped with a tiny dollop of sour cream, briny-sweet ikura, and dill, the two-bite quiche was rather flavourful and featured a sizable chunk of salmon in the center. The Smoked Trout Sandwich too, had a great balance of flavours with the smoky, salty-savoury finish. The slight hint of wasabi layered in the finger sandwich adding a delicate bit of heat.
For the sweets, the Citrus Raspberry Matcha Entremet tasted just as vibrant as its bright red glaze. The sweet-tart flavour of the fruity mousse working exceptionally well with the matcha sponge. Similarly, the Sudachi Tart was delightfully citrusy with a velvety almost cream-like consistency and soft-crisp tart shell as the base. Another hit for matcha fans, the Matcha Azuki Monaka had a very light airy matcha mousse packed between smooth azuki red bean paste and crisp roasted rice wafer shells. Each guest is also entitled to two beverages. Apart from the usual coffee and tea, there was a choice of matcha green tea latte too.
