Fortunately, one of the ramen places that they went happened to have an outlet here in Singapore. Tsuta Ramen, a recipient of a Michelin Star back in 2015 in Japan, serves a bowl of noodles that is more equivalent to soba noodles than the regular ramen noodles that most are familiar with. Their most renowned soup base is the shoyu broth, made from a blend of soy sauce, asari clams and chicken. Since the queue was not as crazy when it first opened (people queued in line for more than 3 hours during the grand opening), I managed to snag a seat within minutes and had to go for the full works, the Char Siu Aijitama Shoyu Soba which comes with 4 slices of char siu, bamboo shoot, leek, flavoured egg and truffle pureed in truffle oil. The addition of the truffle created a harmonious flavour and wonderful aroma that whets your appetite as you slurp up the noodles and broth from each spoonful. As expected, I wiped the entire bowl clean in less than 15 minutes. This is definitely my worth it winner for its given price point.
