Skeptical about their European meet Asian menu at first, I was pleasantly surprised by The Armoury’s rendition of the Chirashi Don. With two sizes ($16/$20) available off their mains, we opted for Mega Chirashi, the larger portion for sharing which had the addition of scallop and jellyfish. The inclusion of the two more premium ingredients partnered with bursts of briny ikura as well as bite-sized cubes of Salmon and Maguro Tartar was thoroughly enjoyable for me as the savoury seasoning/marinate was boosted with just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, featuring a more delicate flavour profile, the lightly marinated sashimi was also married up with Pickled Ginger, Lor Chap, Scallion and Wasabi to balance. However, the ratio of toppings to rice was least desirable (not very substantial).
