Cycled through the rain to get here. Totally worth it. The regular is a little small for me so I went for the upsize which made it 13.00. Love the vibe here.
Coming back for the curry next time.
Unlike the thick, broken grains we are used to in Cantonese congee, the seafood porridge was served in Teochew style, where the whole rice grain still intact and soaked in broth. The broth is delicious and the seafood are fresh. They are also very generous with the ingredients with large chunks of fish slices and squid 》$6
Hidden in bukit batok industries area. They have tako wasabi (Wasabi Raw Octopus) forgot to take photo. It's good!!! They have Buffet ( All you can eat) $38.80 NETT or ala carte. No GST & Services charge. ✌🏻️
This dish definitely had a homey and unpretentious feel to it. Simple, yet delicious. The staff (or is the lady the owner?) also seemed to be chatty and friendly with patrons. Thanks @justinfoodprints for the restaurant recommendation!
The 70-year-old famous bak chor mee from Hong Lim is at Bukit Batok!

I love the springy noodles that's coated with the sauces, tangy vinegar and chilli. The ingredients was also very shiok - minced meat and lean meat was porky; wanton was plump with generous fillings, fried sole fish which lifted the dish with umami. The teochew dumpling soup was genuinely flavoured without the typical artifical msg taste, so I could drink them freely. Tip: add extra vinegar, self service.

High light of the night would be their chicken butt and pork belly. Don't be afraid when you heard the word "butt". No trace of weird smell but it was grilled till crisp and brushed with their inhouse sauce. .
Overall speaking their yakitori was leaking in seasoning. The wide variety of cut made up for it. You can consider visit this joint with a couple of friends talk some chicken and have some "butt". 😋
Skeptical about their European meet Asian menu at first, I was pleasantly surprised by The Armoury’s rendition of the Chirashi Don. With two sizes ($16/$20) available off their mains, we opted for Mega Chirashi, the larger portion for sharing which had the addition of scallop and jellyfish. The inclusion of the two more premium ingredients partnered with bursts of briny ikura as well as bite-sized cubes of Salmon and Maguro Tartar was thoroughly enjoyable for me as the savoury seasoning/marinate was boosted with just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, featuring a more delicate flavour profile, the lightly marinated sashimi was also married up with Pickled Ginger, Lor Chap, Scallion and Wasabi to balance. However, the ratio of toppings to rice was least desirable (not very substantial).
