These came in a bag of 5. Had them heated up and the exterior was nicely crisp while the rich chocolate filling was oozy. Chocolate was just a touch sweeter than I would have liked, but the bread was soft inside and it’s pretty value for money for what you get!
The cream cheese was a bit too thick for my liking, but the moist layer of cake in between the cream cheese and bread surprisingly helped lift the flavour profile of the whole bun. This made for a great post-meal snack.
Cranberries and walnuts are two of my favourite things to eat in a hearty loaf of bread, so it is not very surprising that I like this bread very much! Perhaps one thing to consider, though, would be to use olive oil instead of butter, like in some of the other breads from Duke Bakery. I think it would really lean into the savoury profile of the bread and be very enjoyable!
This had cranberries, black raisins, orange peel and quinoa in the loaf of bread but the orange peel is definitely the strongest-tasting of the lot. Unfortunately, I prefer a more subtle orange peel flavour so this bread was less enjoyable to me than it otherwise would have been without the orange peel.
Unfortunately, each slice of bread was not as well-studded with cranberries, walnuts and flaxseeds as the one pictured. If they were more generous with the cranberries, walnuts and flaxseeds, I would have really loved this bread. As it is, it ranks very mediocre to me.
I have never felt so offended by a bakery bread than this! There was only a thin layer of (what tasted like processed) cheese in the middle of the huge slab of dry bread. The crust had no flavour as well, and honestly not a big difference in texture compared to the bread as well. I still feel upset that I spent money on this bread.... 😕
