DubuYo (Mid Valley Megamall)

We ordered the set lunch Korean Gogi Set (RM17.50 after tax). It comes with purple rice, 3 side dishes, a small bowl of seaweed soup, and a drink. The stir fried meat with kimchi was served on a stone plate sprinkled with lots of sesame seeds (which was great). Personally I felt like the meat was a little too sweet, and also the kimchi wasn't really kimchi -- basically raw cabbage with some spices, not the softer well-marinated kind. The sides were mediocre, and the soup tasted a little strange. Not my favorite place to get Korean food, but it's definitely a very affordable and filling meal.

Well I had a craving for topokki and Dubu-Yo was nearby so I went therr to get my fix. Hmm, this was around RM18-19 but the taste is sadly very so-so. The sauce had a dead orangey colour which made me not so enthusiastic to eat it. Tasting the topokki, the rice cakes are alright as they were chewy and soft but I feel they were not cooked regularly as a few pieces were hard. There are only a few slices of fish cake and egg which made me sad. The banchan was nothing to shout about, being spinach, kimchi and beansprouts. The soup was okay though with a little tofu in it. A rather overpriced and lackluster experience. I recommend going to #daoraeexpress at #paradigmmall to get your topokki fix as their topokki is so much better. 4/10 would not recommend their topokki and they are really overpriced for Korean food.
