Just a few units away from it is Dong Bei Xiao Chu, also serving North Eastern Chinese dishes at affordable prices with generous portions. From the spicy chicken 辣子鸡 to stir fried cauliflower 花椰菜 and cold skin noodle 凉皮, these are the must-order dishes for us whenever we ate at such a restaurant and the versions here didn’t disappointment. The 辣子鸡 was especially outstanding as it had the necessary spicy and numbing flavour, and as the chicken chunks were boneless, you will not accidentally bite into any bones.

Where is your go to place when you crave for some authentic China Chinese cuisine? We finally tried 东北小厨 along Upper Cross Street after passing by it for a couple of year 😅
Stepping into the eatery is like stepping into a teleportation machine that instantly teleports you into China! It looks like a Chinese eatery, smells like one and sounds like one too. Talk about authenticity!
The Hot & Sour Shredded Potatoes and Szechuan Spicy Popcorn Chicken tasted exactly like the ones that I got in 🇨🇳 Step into this China away from China if you are craving for authentic Chinese cuisine.
love the flavors hehe my favorites were chicken, lamb and the bread!!
Sweet and Sour Pork ($14)
Would prob skip this dish - it was really tough for certain pieces, and those that were softer were still dry. Without the sauce, it also is pretty bland by itself.
Pan-fried Dumpling ($7/ 10pcs)
Looked really different to what we expected based on the menu, but although it wasn't amazing, it wasn't a bad dish as well. Average dumplings I'd say.
Braised Beef ($22)
NGL this really reminded of @bearded.bella's "hanging bacons", but this was way too salty for our liking. It was also pretty fatty and greasy.
