Resembling closely to those i had in Japan, i’m happy to find @toriyard here at Bishan Park 2 serving a variety of charcoal grilled meat, seafood & vegetable on skewers, udon/porridge, donburis, awasemono (side dish) and more. Find new dishes to the menu such as Salmon Skin Salad ($14.00), crispy fish skin served over a bed of refreshing greens; Wagyu Sumiyaki ($20.00), charcoal grilled wagyu steak with a delicious smoky aroma from the grill and Ika Maruyaki ($22.00), grilled hokkaido giant squid with grated ginger and lemon.
My favourite is the Tsukune ($6.00) a large chicken meatball on a skewer, served in a bowl with onsen egg. The large piece of chicken meatball was very well seasoned and went well with the sweet teriyaki sauce top with scallions and seaweed. Dinner is complete with a delicious and flavourful bowl of Buta Karamiso Zousui ($13.00) spicy pork belly porridge. -

Overall was great, love the Tsukune (chicken meatball in egg and teriyaki sauce), it was very delicious! However the slipper lobster was not what I expected, a little let down.

But overall still worth the try! Located at a very peaceful, quiet part of Bishan-AMK Park 2.

Dip that in the teriyaki sauce with an onsen egg for that added lusciousness. You could slurp it all up like I did, but mind you, it could be a tad salty (since you’re essentially drinking teriyaki sauce). @toriyard

A new kid of the block just popped up in my hood and first thing I did was drag my mum along for lunch to check it out.

We ordered the Yakitori Rice Set which comes with Hatsu (chicken heart), Tebasaki (chicken wings), Tsukume (chicken meatball) and a side of rice, pickles, salad & soup.

The yakitori were made to order and grilled on a spot right in the middle of the restaurant, allowing you to have a glimpse of the process of your meal in the making!

The yakitori are seasoned lightly, which allows you to choose between adding more flavour from their sauce bar, or just leaving it as it is for your enjoyment.

The yakitori skewers ranges between $3-$8 a la carte, so it’s good for groups who wanna share! They also have quite a variety of sake available, so do check those out as well.
