The Mess

The Academïcs Breakfast ($25++) is for those who want a little bit of everything in their massive breakfast spread. The Pork Bockwrust Sausage isn't my favourite - the skin was very tough to cut through & the meat was your pretty average run-of-the-mill sausage kind of meat. The Prosciutto Parma Ham, on the other hand, was surprisingly my favourite meat in this platter; not overly salty & although some bits were too dry, it was generally acceptable.

You get to choose how your eggs are done - sunny side up, poached or scrambled, & I chose the latter. I wish they had been cooked a little runnier & not so dry. 'Tis pretty much personal preference, though.

The rest of this dish was nothing fancy, but something that completes your typical big breakfast experience:
Homemade baked beans, roasted baby potatoes, toasted bread & seasonal greens. Special shoutout goes to the toasted bread, which is wayyyy better than the English muffins served with the other Eggs Benedict dish we ordered.

Pork borkwurst sausage, Pio Tosini Prosciutto di Parma Ham, homemade baked beans, roasted baby potatoes, scrambled eggs, toasted bread and seasonal greens. (Jam and butter requested separately)

Not my usual kind of order but pleasantly surprised that every component was pretty good! Liked how Parma ham is used instead of bacon. Pork sausage was tasty had a nice crunch from the skin. Baked beans could be more Smokey.

Finally a tick off my wish list🙂The coffee was smooth but slightly too sweet. Other than being a novelty, there was really nothing super fantastic. Temperature of the coffee was lurk warm, the quantity was little, the chocolate coating in the cone was too thick & sweet and the cone was not crispy. So, one try is enough. I still prefer my shiok Flat White 😜

I guess it's called The Mess cause it does look messy after mixing it all up. Though this was a rather simple dish which can be made at home (except sous vide egg), I still felt that this was a nice comfort-food sort of dish, especially paired with their excellent coffee.
