Dry BKT

This shop inside people's park center (NOT the same as pp complex) specialises in herbal klang style BKT. I've never been a fan of soupy dishes since Singapore is so hot and humid, so to me the real star is the dry BKT- oh so tasty and uses the coveted soft bone pork which melts in your mouth. Gets a bit salty towards the bottom, so mix the cuttlefish bits with a bowl of garlic rice (80 cents) for 💯 enjoyment. The dry BKT comes with a bowl of soup which has stronger herbal taste than the BKT soup since it is not mixed with the pork meat.

Went there during weekend for dinner and it was quiet, thankfully. The food were really great! The portion of meat was plenty with the affordable price and there is free-flow of the herbal soup. Too bad the herbal soup's herb taste is not as strong as what I tasted in Malaysia. Bit the dry bak kut teh was really good! The service was really great with how the uncle kept refilling the soup for so many times without us asking for more 😄

I'm a dry BKT virgin as I've always been one who likes a hot bowl of soup to slurp down with my rice. 🍚 So I was slightly skeptical about trying this one from the relatively new Kee Hiong BKT.

That being said, I really enjoyed my meal here! Aromatic and flavourful, the dry version was tasty and the meat very surprisingly very tender too!

We did try their soupy version as well, which while good, just missed the mark on that strong herbal flavours that you'd come to expect. 🍲
