Really good mutton briyani which had really fragrant rice and tender mutton. A bit pricey but a decent portion so it’s quite worth the price tag!
so back to islamic down the road again.

got ourselves a mutton briyani, sambal prawn and mango lasso this time round. same as our previous meal here, rice was quite bland but flavourful after mixing everything together. the mutton was tender and it was not too gamey. i could accept it.
-
the sambal prawn tasted very home cooked with a nice seafood aftertaste. mango lassi is your normal sweet mango smoothie to beat the heat. these were enough for the both of us.

$25 for all 3 items.

A plate costs between $9-10 dollars, depending on your choice of meat. The mutton briyani is supposed to be the bomb. I had the chicken briyani and the rice is super good!
Fluffy rice, flavorful and tender mutton in a no-pretense environment. Perfect for a weekday dinner.
This restaurant used to be really famous in the 70s for their biryani, so of course I had to check it out! The mutton biryani was really good, especially compared to the chicken biryani. The texture of the rice is excellent and speaks of the quality of rice used, but could be more flavorful. The meat was just awesome, a very tasty, tender, generous portion. Will be back if I'm in the area!
