Salted Egg Squid

9 Reviews

Salted egg squid- the “wet” version. Unlike the usual deep fried sotong in salted egg yolk-batter, New Ubin does it w a different twist! The squids -non deep fried- are coated with thick, salted egg yolk paste (not the watered-down kinda salted egg yolk sauce!) The pic says it all.

Ordered 550g of beef which came with heart attack fried rice - tasted alright. Salted egg squid wasn't too bad. Boss beehoon ($9) was my favourite - strong wok hei + flavourful.

Was hoping for fresher and more tender textured slices of squid for this price tag. Maybe it’s just us, but think we’d prefer a more creamy and gao salted egg sauce compared to the grainy one here.

You can actually taste the grainy bits of salted egg which went well with the steamed squid (sotong). Very addictive indeed.

Yummy yummy. This is a saucier version. It's moist and tasty. The squid is fresh with a soft crunch. Love it. Small portion at S$14.
