This zichar stall whips up pretty good dishes which are perfect for family gathering meals.
✔ Deep fried Prawn balls with pumpkin & butter sauce: The best dish out of the 3 with crispy batter and sweet pumpkin sauce. Tho I'd prefer the sauce less watery. Prawns are fresh and doesn't taste like it has been soaked in the baking soda kind.
✔ Blackcurrent Pork ribs: Well marinated.
✔ Deep fried Chrysanthemum Garoupa with special sauce: Interesting dish which I applaud them for the effort taken to make the dish resemble the flower. Hidden within is familiar refreshing thai mango salad. Special sauce = Thai sweet chilli sauce? 😂

When I saw raving reviews for this tzi char stall, I decided to save it for dinner with my family. But we only left the place with disappointment.
Among all the items we've tried, only the Deep Fried Prawn Ball with Pumpkin and Butter Sauce stood out. We really liked the thick and creamy puree that clung onto the crispy battered exterior. The other signature items - Beancurd with Conpoy & Golden Mushroom and Blackcurrant Pork Ribs - were barely acceptable, with the latter being really tough and lacking meat.
My family's tzi char favourites of black pepper venison, spinach with trio eggs and sambal kangkong weren't great too.
The prawns are fresh and you not have to peel any shells unlike most prawn dishes. The sauce somehow does not taste like pumpkin but it tastes good and has a slight pepper-rish touch. This dish gets a 4.5 rating too!
My favorite Zi char, Lucky seafood at Toa Payoh Lorong 1 moved away. Wanted to bring @triciaaalim & Julian out for dinner with @timchee, so I used @burpple to look for the next best place to go and found this place! The pumpkin sauce prawn ball was amazeballs! Although not as good as Lucky Seafood, it was almost comparable! I love how each dish had a contrasting vege to give a nice colour! #burpple #TGIF
I don't often need to use the app but tonight I was in a foreign neighborhood so I pulled it up and found this yummy zichar shop 3 mins drive from the (I'm glad it's over) dentist. Lovely battered prawns in a pumpkin sauce were a nice surprise as was expecting fried prawn balls as per the description. Very decent dishes. Also pleasantly surprised by straight talking staff who almost refused to let us order more food because we "had enough". They were right.
