Remember the curry mee from Gerai Makan Botak I had last time, and I mentioned I would visit the supplier of their noodles if I ever went back? Well, here I am, at the one and only noodle supplier. I got myself a kilogram worth of yellow noodles to bring back home and cook. These handmade yellow noodles are not your generic type; they are made with love, care, and the traditional way, with no preservatives or artificial colourings. The taste of alkaline is negligible. No matter how you cook the noodles, they will not expand beyond a certain size, and the texture remains slurpy and QQ. Whether you use light or dark sauce, curry, soup, gravy, etc., the noodles soak it up well and create a tasty flavour profile of any kind. I made mine here with a simple combination of mirin, sesame oil, light soy sauce, and a dash of pepper. Simple and tasty.
