They prepare all the oko at the same time, in one huge batch of 12. So food takes a while to come, esp if you're the last table for the seating. We got seated at 1130 and only ate at 1150. Just something to take note of
Their receipt didn't have an itemised list, but roughly each oko costs 1200nett. Obviously seafood costs more and so on
Food review:
Not particularly strong wok hei. Noodles had a decent chewiness but much too salty, and there isn't a unifying underlying umami.
Stick to their okonomiyaki and variants
They have a one main per pax minimum rule
Food review:
Their modanyaki is very different from the normal kind. Theirs has noodles and is not super wet. It's like a slightly wetter version of the normal oko. This combination is lovely cos you get so much of their excellent thick squid. If possible order just squid for topping
Being no2 they have a queue. On a weekday lunch we came 20mins early and there's alr 3 groups ahead of us. Thankfully we still got into the first seating. After merely 5mins there was another 3 groups, suddenly the queue looked really long lol. Come early pls, else you're in for a long uncomfortable wait (they're in the sun, there's very limited seats)
Food review:
The negi based oko is crispier below and soggier on top. Seafood was good, esp the squid which was fat yet tender and carries a teeny bit of bite. Super fresh, oysters were huge too, prawns good as well
Delicious. Beef was pretty decent, the cabbage was good and overall there's this very simple pleasant taste, I think exemplified by the underlying mild umami and the balance between the various textures and flavours. Not heavy at all, the batter was light and there's not too much of it, yet everything ties tgt well. Not particularly crispy, there's crispy bits here and there and that's more than good enuf
So called the second best okonomiyaki in Osaka. Don't expect something mindblowing, it's simple soul food that hits the spot
Mixed okonomiyaki - comprising pork belly, squid and prawns. The best okonomiyaki I’ve ever had.
