Breakfast Hola! is one of those establishments that likely does not need too much of an introduction for those whom have been following the happenings of the local F&B scene for the last couple of years — the brand had been around the local F&B scene since 2022; whilst they have been operating out of their shops space that is located along South Bridge Road where one can also find establishments such as that of Cafe GUI, these folks do seem to be ready to expand their operations recently. Opening their latest outlet in Anchorvale Village, Breakfast Hola! can be found right opposite the shop unit that is occupied by the outlet of Takagi Ramen there — this is actually a much bigger space than that of their South Bridge Road location, with a good number of tables being able to fit groups of two (2) pax and four (4) pax located within the store without being too claustrophobic. The shop adopts an interior design scheme that looks bright and cheery — all that whilst being tastefully decorated with furniture and fittings with wooden accents for a warm and cosy vibe. Operating more as a self-service establishment here, patrons are encouraged to make their orders via an online POS system accessible via a QR code on the table; patrons would also need to return their trays to the tray return area after finishing their meal. The menu at Breakfast Hola! is segmented into categories such as Toast, Thick Toast, Club Sandwiches, Egg Crepe Roll, Noodles, Rice and Finger Food. The list of beverages available at Breakfast Hola! includes coffee, latte, fresh soy milk and various types of tea.

Having visited Breakfast Hola! back when they had first opened their doors at South Bridge Road, one item that we had wanted to give a go but eventually skipped out on would be the Authentic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice. The menu at Breakfast Hola! does not describe the elements that are included in each dish; that being said, it can be observed from our order of the Authentic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice that the item comes with braised meat sauce that comes with small bits of minced pork, fried egg, as well as pickled cucumbers — quite the usual for what one can expect out of a dish like that. Truth to be told, we did find the Authentic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice from Breakfast Hola! to have hit the spot — it is worth noting that the braised pork here is diced into smaller pieces than what we usually would come across from other establishments. That being said, these seemed to have absorbed the flavours of the braising liquid entirely — all with a deep savouriness that comes with a slight hint of spices that are used in the preparation of the braising liquid, we also liked how they have drenched the rice with the braised meat sauce sufficiently to ensure that the short-grain rice is moist enough and aptly flavoured. The sunny side-up does come with a molten egg yolk that eagerly bursts as one breaks the egg yolk, while the pickled cucumber provides a light crunch and a slight tanginess that cuts through the carbs and the meat.

We also found ourselves going for the Luncheon Meat Egg Crepe Roll — it is interesting to note that the Egg Crepe Roll at Breakfast Hola! comes with three (3) different types of crepes that patrons can opt for; the Original Crepe, the Whole Wheat Crepe and the Scallion Oil Crepe. Patrons can also opt from a whole line-up of Add Ons, though we had specified our order to come with the Original Crepe and without any Add Ons. Drenched with a sweet sauce with a slightly dense and sticky consistency, we liked how the Egg Crepe Roll comes with a crusty and crisp exterior while also carrying a slight chew for its texture — we can find the fried egg that is lined underneath the egg crepe roll, giving a slightly fluffy texture before one hits the saltish notes that the luncheon meat provided which is typical or cured meat. We also had given their Taiwanese Teppanyaki a go — this would be similar to that of the Teppanyaki noodles that are typically served on hotplates that one can find in Taiwanese night markets. Available with a choice of either black pepper sauce and mushroom sauce, we went for the former whilst skipping out on the additional of any cheese or grilled meat; the dish comes accompanied with a sunny side-up by default.

We liked how the black pepper sauce for the Taiwanese Teppanyaki comes with a light tang that made it fairly easy to have — the black pepper being not cloying at all; instead provided just a very light touch of spiciness to tickle the tastebuds and should do well for those whom are tolerable to moderate levels of spiciness. The noodles were almost akin to that of pasta noodles; aptly coated with the black pepper sauce for a good flavour, while the sunny side-up that accompanied the Taiwanese Teppanyaki came with the same consistency as that which came with the Authentic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice. The Good Morning Coffee is considered a rather decent cuppa that is close to that of a glass of local-style Kopi — a little bit more on the sweeter side with slightly less depth in its body, but still one which we felt fared better than some thinly-brewed ones at certain coffeeshops across the island. We recalled Breakfast Hola! being one of the few establishments that had sprouted up during a time where Taiwanese-style breakfast joints are considered an uprising trend in Singapore — also one of such establishments that left us with a positive impression after the meal back then. Our latest visit to their location at Anchorvale Village still felt pretty much the same; whilst serving up some pretty simple fare here, Breakfast Hola! does feel like an establishment that serves up pretty comforting food that speaks to the soul — this is especially true for the Authentic Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice that we have had. Prices of their dishes are priced below $15; the priciest being the Grilled Pork Meat and Pork Floss Club Sandwich at $12.80. With this location being situated within the heartlands of the North East, folks around the area would no longer have to travel all the way down to Chinatown / Maxwell to get their Taiwanese-style breakfast cravings fixed!
