This, including the cornbread waffles, were my top favourites among the wide spread served at the restaurant during their last weekend (24/11โ€“26/11).

The individual components of the Wagyu Big Mac Fried Rice were simple and unassuming, but together, they constructed the most comforting of rice bowls. The beef itself was a little dry, but the rest of the ingredients were well done. The flavour combination was amazing, and it all felt like a warm hug.

The cornbread waffles were something else too. I love cornbread in general but the ones here still blew my mindโ€“I happily had 5 of those goodies. I usually favour crispier waffles, but I didn't mind these at all because they were delightfully fluffy. Beside them being sweet like typical cornbreads I've had, pairing them with the maple syrup enhanced the flavour further and actually brought out a wonderful smokiness in it. There were bits of corn kernels inside too, which I was only too happy to lap up. Beautiful flavours and texture checked, making these a plate (or in my case, 2 plates) of memorable waffles.

So with these, I bid farewell to Bird Bird with a heavy heart. I've never been a fried chicken fan, but these outstanding menu items proved that the restaurant can delight everyone else too!
I certainly hope this is not the last we've seen of Bjorn and his amazing team (other than Artichoke, of course) for this experience has further affirmed my belief that they can execute some great stuff.

here at bird bird for the collaboration with three buns. the burger of the day is the bird bun ($16), a fried chicken thigh paired with nam jim slaw and coconut mayo, sandwiched by rice buns. the taste of the burger is undoubtedly thai-inspired, with its sour and spicy slaw (nam jim = dipping sauce in thai) and the juicy chicken thigh that had a slight lemongrass kick to it. the coconut mayo conjured images of the sea and coconut trees swaying in the breeze - well actually it reminded me of the nasi lemak burger from mcdonaldโ€™s. finally, the rice buns bravely soaked up all the juices from the chicken and the slaw while keeping its shape and texture. toasted (oat?) flakes on the top bun added crunch as well. pity itโ€™s so far from home (and also a limited time collab). hoping it will pop up again sometime soon ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Served with a 'special' sauce which enhanced the flavour. As instructed by the staff, put the sauce first and then, all ingredients should be mixed together. As a result, a feast of variety of interesting flavours in a plate! Although, the beef was quite chewy and this serving is a bit pricey, generally, I enjoyed this meal.
PS The wagyu beef are under the fried egg. Sorry. Too hungry, I didn't realise that the beef slices can't be seen! โ˜น๏ธ

๐Ÿ˜œ Definitely a memorable fried chicken restaurant. ๐Ÿ”

No regrets for trying this. Crispy batter and tender meat. Drizzled with 'sticky' soy sauce -- this must be the reason why it's called the sticky chicken. ๐Ÿ˜ For one last time, at least, I was able to try their food before they close on 26 November. I can say that I shared some memories in Bird Bird. โค๏ธ

Generous amount of truffle mayo and shaved parmesan piling on that mountain of house cut curly fries. Satisfied even by its look. Would love to come back for it and also to try Bangkok fried chicken the next time. Such a petty that the waffle machine was out of order.. didnโ€™t get to try their signature cornbread waffle along with the fried chicken.

It looked so fierce on the menu, charcoal hot devil fried chicken ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Nope, itโ€™s nothing hot and spicy... sweetness was overpowering. Its tasty but just doesnโ€™t match its look and name. $30 for half portion is not cheap.. good try but not again.

Saw most reviews recommending Lebanese, but it didnโ€™t impress me at all. Marinated with simple dry herbs and drizzled w honey-sweetness. The chicken was indeed very tender. Overpriced, would rather go for our all time favorite - OFC.

These fries were indeed crisp and sliced incredibly thinly, but so much so that I couldn't get what I was eating. In fact, they reminded me of the tempura batter crisps instead of potato fries. Again, I'm pretty sure I must be an anomaly because I can see how this will be addictive to some, given how light and non-greasy these were. What I can appreciate though, is the ingenious combination of sauces, that was incredibly tasty & appetising!

Service was friendly and great, and overall I enjoyed my time there. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking to have some light hearted fun with some friends over good grub and alcohol. ๐Ÿป

I'm not crazy about fried chicken at all, unless they're doused in heavy sauces. So, I'll be the first to admit that it takes A LOT to impress me with this dish.
While the fried chicken here didn't change my mind about how I feel, it is a pretty good rendition of it. The batter was really light, crispy and seasoned well, but the most amazing thing has to be how the chicken remained so juicy and moist within. Yes, that includes the notoriously dry breast meat!
It is also served thoughtfully with some pickles to add some freshness and a garlic dip which reminds me of a whipped version of the tzatziki sauce.
While I'd still pick saucy fried chicken over this, I am certain this would definitely please all the plain ol' fried chicken fans out there. If you're not driving to get here, definitely get some booze to go with your meal; they even have recommended pairings with your choice of chicken on the blackboard!

This deeply flavourful crispy fried chicken was the chicken winner for me. The battered chillies & onions were a nice added crunch and the green chilli nam jim dipping sauce was gone before the chicken was (so we had to ask for more). DELISH.

As Russell @okwhotookmyusername said "the mudslide won by a landslide". This is our favourite softie pie out of the three we tried.
๐Ÿ”ธ
Toasted milk softie forms the core here, flanked with chocolate pudding and brownies and topped with fudge and shaved coconut. Then dig right through for the cocao nib pie crust at the bottom! The smoky fragrance of the toasted milk softie would linger around for a while even after you've swallowed everything. Definitely my favourite softie flavour.

Essentially a deconstructed "burger-inspired" fried rice. Perfectly seared and tender Tajima Wagyu, American cheese, cheeseburger sauce - no idea what goes in it was only told that it's "special sauce", but very delectable. Served with kale, corn, pickles, onions, greens, sweet cherry tomatoes and topped with a sunny side up. Mix it all up and you get a very satisfying meal. They did say it was good for 2 to share but I think I could've finished it by myself (portion and tastiness-wise) if not for the fact that we also had to have the Lebanese fried chicken again.

Fried chicken craving led us here ๐Ÿ˜Œ Tastes as good as it looks to me, particularly cos this is my favourite combination in a pop - Bandung Lychee!

I love the creativity behind Neh Neh Pop (and the occasional surprises that makes my once-in-awhile sad reminders of Cha Cha Pop a little better). Light, aromatic without an overpowering artificial perfumey taste, the Bandung ice cream was crisply coated with white chocolate, and little bits of lychee (tho I wish it was more prominent!). Prettily finished with dried rose petals ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Jazzed up my weekend with Bird Birdโ€™s crazy addictive Sticky Housemade Curly Fries ($11)!

So guud that we couldnโ€™t stop munching. The sweet, savoury and lightly spiced heap was slathered with a blend of maple soy, Sriracha hot sauce and Kewpie mayo but stayed remarkable crisp throughout the meal. A whole lot of fun to eat, these ultra thin curly fries also reminded me of our well-loved childhood noodle snack - absolutely flavoursome and finger-licking. The tangy kick from the sriracha was notably strong for me but the hint of mapley sweetness from the soy glaze definitely balanced things out. Not greasy at all, the heaviness does however set in after awhile, so be sure to share.

Personally, I would have left them just a tad longer in the waffle maker for a crispier edge, but I am sure that you would be very happy even with the current iteration of it. One more piece please! #burpple #birdbirdsg
