Usually not a fan of squid, but this was quite nice. The tangy lemon juice chilli was very refreshing and the flavours complemented the sotong nicely.

Price: $12.90 (we got 1-for-1 on @entertainersg, which made it super worth!) #halfeatenblog #bangkokjam #squid #sotong #thai #burpple

The chain has finally rejuvenated its menu, with the addition of a few new dishes. The new duck red curry, like most items, is only average: the meat is too chewy as the duck is old. All in all, a quick lower-end Thái fix, like Crystal Jade Kitchen for Cantonese food.

This was a pretty small plate, but bcos the sauce was so rich and creamy, I found the amt just right. It would prob go better with white rice than fried rice. Squid was thinly sliced and a bit tough to chew. But the excellent sauce more than made up for it. It was quite salty, and rather than just plain salted egg yolk taste, it was a bit cheesy as well. Hard core salted egg yolk fans may find it lacking, but I liked it. Of cos I scrapped every bit of it off the plate.

I could smell the nose-tingling aroma of sambal when the server set this on the table. There were chicken breast pcs, eggs and long beans inside. Pretty spicy. A must try for sambal fans.

Oooh I do love chicken thighs, and this one was juicy and succulent. Well marinated thou it could do with more char. Even so, we fought over the skin a bit. This was a dish where you gotta get your hands dirty. I liked the little side condiments that went with it. The sour tang made this dish less greasy. Lettuce was fresh and crisp. Not very filling thou.

Not sure why this is a curry but maybe it’s a Thai thing? Not common to see pork curry and it has tamarind, so I was interested. Lightly piquant and quite savory, this would have gone great with rice, except that I had Tom yum fried rice. It did not have the usual curry taste I expected. A bit strange for me, but not a bad dish.
