We wanted the to try the paku ferns, the daily special but sadly that was all sold out. So our lovely service staff suggested this chayote salad, and it was amazing! Paired with mince pork and shrimps, this tangy salad was super refreshing and really enhanced all the other courses. So yummy. Had to refrain from ordering another serving.
Every table had an order and so we knew it had to be the jackpot and it was. Tender and you can rip apart the meat so easily, the curry was so well balanced and utterly delicious. Couldn’t help cleaning out all the gravy with the brown rice. Utterly delicious
Whilst this was quite delectable, it played second fiddle to the other meat course we ordered.
These are deep fried till they are crunchy on the outside and yet no hint of oiliness. Quite yummy as a starter!
Baan is the chef’s take on Thai home cooking.

Bangkok has always been to me a haven for street food and cheap but incredibly tasty eats. However, if you wanted a nice restaurant to have classic Thai dishes, Baan would be a good recommendation.

The stand out dishes for me were the grilled pork satay, braised green beef curry and the massaman lamb belly curry. The lamb especially was so so tender and tasty.
