We wanted to try the black sesame one but it wasn’t ready yet so we bought the pandan kaya flavour. Length is around my palm (my palm is same as my daughter’s so not v big). Diameter is smaller than Rich & Good cake shop. Kaya wise, RC’s more fragrant and rich but the cake wise, Ah Mah’s much softer and fluffier. I also love the shredded coconut coating! Will buy this again.
Bought all the flavours of Ah Mah Blanket Castella Roll since we enjoyed the pandan kaya one previously. It’s still our favourite! Chocolate one is nice too. Black sesame cake is fragrant but I don’t really like cream cheese as the spread.
The matcha cake was fragrant without having an overbearing matcha taste. Pair this with a cup of tea for a fuss free breakfast!
Got to try it out since my parents lugged this all the way from Bedok to home. I could see why some people would find this irresistible — it probably would have tasted even better when warm; the jiggly cake was just the right balance of eggy, sweetness and fluffiness. It's not too dense, yet bouncy without feeling heavy nor oily. Liked how it carries that whiff of fragrance of freshly baked cakes especially on the top — makes the cake even more appealing to have.
I enjoyed their version over Le Castella’s !
