Run by a humble French lady, her pastry shop in the heart of South Melbourne Market.
I daresay her classic Croissants and Pain au Chocolat taste better and flakier than a certain other renowned Croissanterie within the same city. I’d love losing myself in those layers; I mean, just look at them!
Skip the queues, head to Agathé.

I’m really digging the pandan croissant from @agathepatisserie - crispy on the outside, buttery and rich, and there’s something about that green that clicks. #agathepatisserie #burpple
Although both times I went it wasn’t warm/ hot (which probably would have elevated it all the more), it retains an amazing flaky crispness. It is flavorful and buttery and truly enjoyable.

BEST croissant I've had in my life. Yes, I've tried the incredibly famous Lune's but imho, they come nowhere close to Agathé's. It was quite a big croissant but so very easy to finish. The inside was dense and buttery, while the outside had a wonderfully flakey texture that delivered an immensely satisfying crunch as I bit into it.
Superrrr stoked that they recently opened an outlet at Royal Arcade and for one week my friend observed that I had "a minimum of one croissant" everyday. Very charming shop as well, with a space only enough for the French lady behind and the wonderful display of pastries. Feels like I've been transported into France momentarily every morning with her regulars chirping "Bonjour, mademoiselle" and getting their fresh pastry to-go.
We went to Agathé Pâtisserie. You would want to buy everything! Ces't délicieux!
Ok, that's all.
