A Pie Thing (Sunway)

In this visit, I actually ordered two pies, savory and sweet pie. First I ordered the Chunky Steak Pie. At first, I doubt the pie would make me full, but I was wrong. When most pies are only full of gravy, this pie however is full of meat chunks. The beef was tender and tasty with some pieces of nicely cooked carrot.

The second pie was Peanut Butter Brownie. The pie is full of warm dark chocolate ganache which complements the peanut butter inside the pie. When I cut the the pie with my fork, the chocholate flowed over my paper plate! Bite size cuts of brownie and small nut chunks gives additional sweetness and texture to the all saucy filling of the pie. This pie easily joined the list of my top chocolate dessert list!

Now I know what to order for my next visit to this place!

I love anything s'mores. Anything, I love it. I have always wanted to make my own at home but I always end up not doing it, not too sure why. Out of Graham crackers maybe?

My friends didn't like this as it was sweet for them, but I liked it. I am starting to think that I am a weird person.. probably not. But it's good 😌

Finally tried these pies and they were really good! Had steak pie served with mash potato and gravy (RM14.90) and apple crumble pie with vanilla ice cream topping (RM10.90)

There was this one time that I was craving for pie, so I decided to drag my brother to have pie with me.

I am a light eater, so I usually need to share my desserts no matter what. So we both shared the Nutella pie. To be honest, it was not exactly how I expected it to be.

I expected the Nutella pie to be somewhat chewy and gooey (like a Nutella brownie). Imagine my disappointment when it was just crusty with a hint of Nutella. I mean, yeah, they probably nailed the part where it did taste like Nutella, but not so much how I imagined it.

Taste wise, it was actually pretty good despite my (somewhat) irrational expectations 😂 then again, it was okay in the middle of the pie. It was also topped with vanilla ice cream so that was a plus point. Anything topped with a vanilla ice cream is always good to me 😍

Frustrated that you could not have A Pie Thing's delicious pies any time before 4pm? Head over to their new branch in Sunway which has extended opening hours (12 noon till 9pm, Tuesdays to Sundays) allowing you to finally satisfy your pie cravings during your lunch break! Go for the chunky steak pie with toppings of mashed potatoes, peas and gravy for a brilliant afternoon meal (RM17.90), or dig into their New York cheese pie for an indulgent dessert.

I can get my pie cravings fixed or have something different during lunch now.
The question mark pie, because they labeled this as a question mark when I visited because it's their brand new pie. Was convinced it was cheese because of the familiar brown bake mark and texture. 🙊 Cheese filling was a little disappointing for being quite dry. But delicious crust as usual. Quite like a usual cheesecake with more crust rather than just a layer.
Best for sharing! Eating alone will be quite a task! I still love it though. It was a nice sweet pie. Nice twist 😍 Food: 8/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 10.50 - the portions at APT is quite standard. Price is rather reasonable but not cheap! Especially their savoury ones and the combos)
PS. Not pictured. Took away a cheesy chicken pie with gravy too! I think I ruined it with the brown sauce because the chicken pie would've been better on its own. But also because I had it 2 hours after purchase (where they did claim I could still have maximum satisfaction in 2 hours) RM 13.90 for only brown sauce combo.
