The ayam penyet here is said to be quite good, but there are two stores selling them, so discern them properly. The ayam penyet was well fried and tender. I was hoping the uncle could hammer a few more times to get more tender meat but oh well. The chili is the clear winner if you were to compare between the two stores. Unfortunately for my mum, she went with the other store and got a disappointed meal. So do make sure you order from the better store.

I personally find the noodle really springy and fresh. The truffle oil could have been added more and there wasn't any meat in this dish. For $9.50, I would still say this is a decent bowl given its location and the noodle quality. Pro-Tip: add the minced pork and char siew and this meal instantly becomes so much better. It will sum up around $15 but that's still within an affordable price range IMO.

Sorry Singapore-Korean food scene, the local food there is just much more flavourful, such as this samgyetang. The thicker broth was amazingly flavourful and sweet thanks to the Black Garlic. The chicken was also so tender and easy to peel off, all it takes a few chews and back to slurping the warm broth again. Having samgyetang in a cold fall season really feel so comfortable and heartwarming.

Another well done Angel Hair pasta dish. I love the slightly crispy minced pork mixed with Si Chuan spice, it packs a strong punch to this dish. This is probably a must try if it's your first time, definitely won't go wrong.

This appetiser certainly lived up to its reputation πŸ˜‹. Mala spicy, fragrant and the excitement to find the chunk of chicken keeps you entertained while waiting for the main dish. How I wished it had more chicken in it. 😩

PSA: Tom’s palette will be showcasing 2 new flavors, white truffles and nasi lemak ice cream next week for the month of Nov. The owner let us try the nasi lemak first and it’s quite good. The owner took time to explain the thought process to blend the coconut rice with tiny bits of ikan bilis and peanuts. Really recommend to try it.

This Friday he is also opening a fresh soursoup to make into ice cream and he recommends to come down to try since soursoup season is ending.

Tried this a couple of times back when they are still at Katong. They have shifted to CT Hub 1 level 2 recently, so it’s on our engineering team strike zone. What I liked about the meal is that the roasted pork has a really crispy layer of skin that makes those cracker sounds as you bite on them. However, I think the overall meat selection has a cold touch to it when I'm expecting it to be warm. Hope they could improve on that.

Satisfied my craving for BCM before holiday trip. The vinegar was just nice, not too overwhelming and the soup has a nice meaty aroma to it thanks to the generous amount of Ba Chor and Fishball. I'm not sure if this was by mistake but there was a piece of beef brisket in it (they also serve Beef Noodles) and it was just so amazingly soft and fragrant. While queuing, I did see articles on their stall about the beef noodles, but I still chose BCM for my craving. Next time when I'm here I will want to try the Beef Noodles.

Surprising good portion of Chimichanga. The fried burrito felt more like a baked version, but the chicken stuffing was really tender. This place is also good for groups to hangout after dark near quayside isle.

Never got over this tasty bowl of Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu. Similarly, never got over the sad feeling when you realized all the pieces have disappeared.
