Piña Colada ($18++) A tropical mix of light rum, coconut cream, pineapple, and lime, intended to deliver a smooth, creamy, and refreshing taste. However, it was a letdown, as the coconut and pineapple flavours felt negligible.

Value for money especially with B1F1! We love going to Wine & Kitchen whenever were in the area for their delicious pastas and worth-it Happy Hour! A very cosy establishment tucked in a corner of 111 Somerset perfect for casual lunches to quiet dates. Their Risotto ($25) never fails to let us down, with rich and creamy risotto paired with chunks of earthy mushrooms. Three stalks of crunchy asparagus crown the dish together with a drizzle of chilli oil. Wow. We also had the Truffle Mushroom Aglio Olio ($25) which was addictively garlicky with a touch of heat. The drizzle of truffle oil really elevated this dish and left me wanting more after the last strand of pasta. Completing the meal was a glass of Happy Hour Osmanthus G&T at $11. With the Burpple 1 for 1 deal for pastas, the total came up to about $42. Perfect!

Argentina striploin Ordered the striploin. We got the wedges and sautéed mushrooms on the sides. We ordered a medium steak, and I enjoyed the portion. Heard that they are closing down soon though due to high rent. Would miss this place.

Mushroom spinach ravioli Love this rendition of ravioli cause it’s not creamy. It’s tasty. Ordered this a few time and would always order again.

Chicken Katsu Burger Interesting use of mushroom sauce. The egg also elevated the burger. Overall enjoyable!

Coffee We ordered a hot white and iced white with the deal. It's a nice place to do some productive work, but we ordered take away instead as we were rushing.

Double Scoops ($10.20) i choose aphrodite (blue cheese) & (seasonal edition) christmas rose for double scoop. I finally tried their gelato after a long time for wishlist. I like seasonal edition flavour as taste like nutty and sweet aftertaste whereas aphrodite taste like strong cheese taste w strong chocolate aftertaste. I felt that it's a bit jelak but the boss did warned me before ordering it.

Ice Cream This is their CNY special, unfortunately didn’t note down what’s the flavours thinking they would share on their social media. But there’s wasn’t any info on their social media about this CNY special flavours. But it tastes rich and flavourful.

9 course Omakase Visited Jidai recently for their 1-for-1 9 course omakase. Staff were very kind and seated us even though we were late and came close to closing. Food was good, fresh with exciting flavours, we left super full and satiated. Topped up for their duck and foie gras main - highly recommended. Would definitely be back to try their other offerings!

OMAKASE! Our previous experience at @jidai_restaurant was amazing and we always JIDAI (sorry bad pun) for a chance to revisit. So when the opportunity came, of course we jumped at it!😬 Here's what we enjoyed: JIDAI 8 Course Ultimate Omakase (SGD88) 1️⃣Chile Uni with Uni Miso Creme 2️⃣Oyster & Potan Ebi 3️⃣Tuna Tataki & Sea Bream 4️⃣Jade Abalone with Seaweed Rice 5️⃣Maitake with Foie Gras Veloute 6️⃣Kurobuta Pork Collar with Braised Pull Pork Dumpling 7️⃣Mini Cones Chous Chous 8️⃣Champagne Gelato with Yuzu Poached Baby Pear and Vanilla Tuile My personal favourite from the omakase has to be the Potan Ebi Tart which TBH caught me by surprise cause spicy (but that's just me as I'm a baby when it comes to spice) but that didn't stop me from devouring it! Haw Ah ($4.50++) Cooked hawthorn berries are mixed into the gelato and then topped with a scattering of haw flake . I got a double whammy of the Chinese hawthorn fruit’s sweet-sour flavours in this frozen treat.

Lemon Puff Located at this quiet neighbourhood of Pek Kio, you would find this small ice cream shop that still opens at night. Serving artisan handcrafted gelato made in-house. I like they would explain what are the taste you could expect from each flavours. For the lemon puff, you would get the tangy taste as you eat it. Use your Burpple Beyond here to enjoy one for one scoop.

Haw Ah (Hawthorn Flakes) Gelato + Belgian Waffles Haw Ah (Hawthorn Flakes) Gelato + Belgian Waffles ($10.50) I just crave for food without reason but really like their airy and soft Waffles texture. I don't really like haw ah taste as I imagined. It's taste so weird after putting milk infused with haw ah ? But they just add haw Ah bits with ice cream.

Single scoop ($4.90, +$1.30 for premium) Ju Pu: Chrysanthemum and Pu Erh was a really nice combination - not too sweet, yet fragrant - and apparently a healthier option. I liked the creamy sticky texture of the ice cream even though it was slightly melted when served to us. Guava with Sour Prune Sorbet: Sweet, sour and refreshing - perfect for a hot day. I like trying interesting flavours, so this was a nice change. Overall - ice cream was great, but it’s really pricey because there’s GST and service charge on top of it all. And there were also 2 dead cockroaches at the sides of the shop which were a lil off putting. I may come back if I’m around the area but only if I’m planning to use the Burpple Beyond deal.

Banoffee Pecan, Triple Chocolate Shortbread Ice-cream Sandwiches ($9.80 U.P.; on Burpplebeyond) Will this be a weekend hobby? #3 I made the following Burpplebeyond redemption this week: Amuse ice cream sandwich shortbread, the banoffee pecan flavor and triple chocolate flavors. The ice creams here are a treat and good for they are non-icy and smooth, sadly I felt the chocolate shortbread on chocolate ice cream a slight chocolate overdose after awhile. That said you’d find me revisiting to try the brownies and other ice cream flavors when around the area, enabled by burpple.

1-for-1 Ice Cream Shortbread Love me a sweet Burpple deal to close off the night and this was a nice one! Got the Chocolate Cookies & Dough and Darkest Chocolate Nib – my friend and I enjoyed both of them equally as we’re both huge chocolate lovers. Though the hurdle with these desserts is that you have to wait for it to thaw a bit to be able to pierce through the shortbread. Nonetheless a value deal!
