The chocolate flavour wasn't anything much to rave about, though the extra chocolate toppings ๐ŸŒฐ made for quite a well-contrasting bitter crunch. Also, this time, the soft-serve was slightly thicker and more luscious, so it made for quite a satisfying mouthful ๐Ÿฆ.

CCF Club in Maxwell Food Centre doesn't only serve your typical CCF, but they also have really interesting CCF types, such as this Special Laksa CCF (SGD4) ๐Ÿฅ˜.
.
I appreciated that their homemade laksa broth had the perfect spice level for me, and that in it were a multitude of ingredients, such as hard-boiled egg ๐Ÿณ and fish ngor hiang ๐ŸŸ. That said, though, it's their silky-smooth CCF that really stands out; they were thin and satisfyingly chewy like hor fun!

As its name suggests, this dish is actually native to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ, where the owner is from, so you rarely actually see it in Singapore!
.
The signature dish featured a secret-recipe ๐Ÿค curry gravy which was packed with the distinct decadence of coconut milk ๐Ÿฅฅ, as well as a good kick of spice๐Ÿ”ฅ. There were also a good variety of ingredients, star of which was undoubtedly the silky-smooth CCF.

Even Singapore's favourite salted egg chips brand, IRVINS (@irvinsaltedegg ), has jumped on the bandwagon!
.
Presenting their first-ever Yam Lava Mooncake! At SGD40, you get a total of eight mooncakes in a box wrapped in a beautiful Japanese-style cloth ๐ŸŽ. There are two types of fillings to choose from: yam and mung bean. However, you cannot mix the two flavours within the same box. Fortunately, since I'm a big yam fan, that wasn't a problem for me.
.
To my delight, the yam paste was satisfyingly oozy and sweet โ˜บ. The distinct earthy flavours were very prominent too. As for the lava salted egg yolk ๐Ÿณ, while it wasn't as oozy or as much in amount, I felt the balance it provided was just right. Its savouriness managed to complement the overall sweetness of the yam.
.
The mooncake skin itself was made out of activated charcoal ๐Ÿ–ค, which gave it its shiny black hue. For one, though, I felt that it was tad bit too thick. Spent quite a while chewing on the skin, as a result. Nevertheless, I think this combination of yam and salted egg yolk is one that is done right ๐Ÿ‘. Definitely one of the more interesting mooncakes I've encountered this year, especially since I'm a salted egg fan as well!
