Ok, with 1-for-1 Ordered 1-for-1 brunch, Big Breakfast and Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict. Big Breakfast: expected it to be better for the price, the toast was kinda hard to cut, bacon was slightly over fried and hard, the egg mushrooms and sausage were okay Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict: this was good, but sadly they ran out of brioche bread and I had to top up $3 for croissant

Rainbow Dinner Set 📍 Raikuichi, Dempsey The set is served in stages so this is a good choice for a slow, savoured meal. Not if you’re starving! The portion is just right — with sashimi, sushi, chawanmushi and a really great soup to end.

I have been going back to Rakuichi Dempsey for many years due to the casual vibe, good food and peaceful, relaxing ambience! There is ample parking and it's free 😆 Rating: 7.8/10 Will i return/recommend: Yes/Yes Pros: One of the nicest aburi sushi i've had! Iro-iro set (pictured) is quite good value. Prefer outdoor seating as it's very relaxing, but indoor is cosy too. Other foodstuffs are pretty decent as well. Cons: Not the cheapest nor the best value mid-tier jap cuisine, but the relaxing ambience makes up for it. Other Rakuichi outlets (i've tried Greenwich) not good. Banoffee pie 16++ Banana was good, toffee was alright. The pastry is very strongly spiced, so it's lovely. The whole thing wasn't particularly coherent but the flavours worked so it's decent overall

Roast half ckn 39++ I know why people like it. It's quite a dry style of roasting with a crisp skin. The crispiness is quite decent although it does dissipate within minutes. Meat was very well seasoned. Very good hearty bistro style, not the atas restaurant super juicy style, although for this price its ex. However portion is big and it's meant for sharing I believe,I struggled to finish one myself. Sauces sucked Overall otherwise it's pretty decent, but nothing mindblowing ofc

What is better than to end a lovely Sunday with a hot pot of cheese fondue? A good bottle of white wine, of course. Glad to check out this new restaurant with @tomodachichingoo last week. A cosy restaurant located just behind Long Beach in Dempsey Hills with a wide selection of wines. 😍

Haze haze go away. One of the best peach ice blended out there. Especially with weather like this, this is ultra refreshing with peach slices.

Eggs Royale. Love the music and the ambience here. Post-polling day should be like this. Singaporeans still made reasonable and wise decisions after all. We didnt take things for granted.

Big Breakfast ($23.90++) Priced slightly higher than quite a lot of others but fortunately, portion's filling. You get two eggs done any way you like, a large sausage, bacon, sautéed mushrooms, wilted spinach, a whole grilled tomato and a large hash brown that was actually not soaked in oil. They also offer the same dish but with a couple of small pancakes on the side for $3 more which would suit those with a really hearty appetite.

Steamed Cockles This is one of my favourite place for cockles.. It's so well done and the Thai chilli brings out the freshness of the cockles. They even half peel the shell for you, you can enjoy the cockles without dirtying your hand, using fork and spoon can enjoy the cockles.. 100% must order

Tong Fen Crab Super great crab that has the tong Fen to soak up the lovely crab juices. The other Thai food they offer's really good too. Do come at night(with a reservation) for their night time performances!!!

Spaghetti allé carbonara ($33) Organic, and handmade pasta! Which this restaurant boast about their handmade pasta, I’m not quite sure about the taste. At the price point of SGD$33, I’m not sure it’s worth every cent. A little bland, with the only saving grace of the pork jowl. Fancy but I’ll skip!

Crudo ($38, L) Parma ham and rocket with dollops of fresh buffalo mozzarella on sourdough pizza base. The buffalo mozzarella was a good addition, not too strong but surely very creamy and decadent. La Forketta is situated in a quiet corner of Dempsey hill. In these covid times where travel is restricted, if you just exercise some imagination, you can almost picture yourself having Italian food overseas 😅

La Forketta ($39, Large) It’s rare to have sliced black Angus beef atop pizza but the combination of flavourful grilled meat with parmesan, rosemary and rocket really did work! I enjoyed the thin sourdough base too ☺️

It's an unusual experience for me because Green Door is in a pub/bar setting, so it's not a place I'll typically go on my own if I hadn't won the lucky draw. We would have sat outdoors if not for the rain, and if we came when it was brighter. Pardon the low light of this photo cos it was really dark, but the setting does facilitate meaningful conversations. After an hour of hunting for food in within Dempsey, finally The Green Door had seats for #da8ofus . 🤣 . . So actually, The Green Door serves the same food as the Roadhouse which we had wanted to eat at. But it was full, so they directed us to the restaurant opposite where’s there plenty of tables. Their menu is supposedly a little smaller, but you can also order the food from Roadhouse over. The beer battered onion rings with garlic mayonnaise is my favourite! Those vadai lookalike rings of onions were surprisingly not too greasy and the moisture of the onions was well retained inside the crispy batter. The curry in a hurry fries is pretty similar to your McDonald’s shaker fries but the thicker cut version. Somehow the sides blew me away and we were kinda satisfied before the main courses were served. I had the Eggs Royale which I would say... average. With a bottle of Rosé, the meal cost $32 per pax for 8 persons. Quite a steal for a place like Dempsey. And we were sure stuffed! Crabmeat Spaghetti & Truffle Fries One of those days you just wanna indulge. Love their crabmeat spaghetti and I always come back for that + truffle fries. Price is reasonable too even with an exceptionally good ambience.
