Tarts! Finally tried the tarts from @wunderfolks ! Got the 4 tart box! ($32 for four 8cm tarts) You can choose the desired flavours of your tart, and I picked the following: - Fruitilicious Mixed Fruit Tart: Filled with madagascan vanilla custard & topped off with grape, strawberry, blueberry and peach. - Mango Passionfruit Tart: Creamy passionfruit curd topped with mango, pineapple, passionfruit cremeux cubes. -Lemony Meringue Tart: Pate sablee crust, lemon curd and finished with torched meringue. - LycheeTart: Lychee rose mousse, finished with a tangy and luscious lychee raspberry whipped ganache. My favourite was the fruitilicious mixed fruit tart!

The lychee curd is smooth with a light lychee taste, and the little pink dollops of cream taste like strawberry cream yum yum. Fremantle Octopus Enjoyable with the right amount of chew and snap, the Fremantle Octopus ($26) was pretty good too. Happy to nibble on them all night long, the smokey octopus offered tender, supple bouncy bites. The accompanying macadamia tahini was bursting with sweet nuttiness and paired even more nicely with a good squeeze of fresh lime.

Babaganoush Another stand-out dish was the flavourful Babaganoush ($14). Adorned with crispy keropok chicken skin, this chilled mezze featuring creamy smoked eggplant dip, earthy kinnogomadare, and roasted sesame seeds is a savoury delight. Just perfect with warm, soft, pillowy Pita ($3/piece).

Roasted Brussel Sprouts Revisited Habibi-san recently and it's safe to say their dishes are as unforgettable as ever. The Roasted Brussel Sprouts ($20) remain an absolute favourite, offering a delightful medley of flavours and textures. Imagine crisp charred buds, dancing in nutty kinnogomadare (roasted Japanese sesame paste), with the added crunch of pickled red cabbage, jalapeños, and a generous topping of umami-packed bonito flakes. It's a symphony of smokiness and sweetness, with just a hint of heat.

salmon sashimi Popped into this hole in the wall joint at Beauty World for a quick bite! The burpple beyond options are rather limited here, so we settled for a plate of salmon sashimi ($18.80++) - it came with 14 pieces of salmon, each with great marbling and flavour. The cuts weren’t as thick as most other reviewers revere it to be, so the price is a little steep even with the 1 for 1! The restaurant gets rather packed on weekends, so do place a reservation before heading down.

Sake Salmon Sashimi (1 for 1) Worthwhile deal at $19 for 2 serving of fresh tasting salmon.

Maki Roll One for one maki (one for $13.90 and other other for $19.90)using beyond deal. Covered in lots of tempura, tasty with a good crunch. Got some of their sashimis too as they were having in house promo.

pork chop baked rice and bbq pork egg rice food was not too bad. eggs were quite creamy and paired well with the bbq pork which has a decent fat to meat ratio. the baked rice was normal. can skip. i enjoyed their iced milk tea the most!

Quality Cantonese Cuisine Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk Braised Pork Cartilage in Fish Soup with Mixian Both dishes were so homely and delicious, would come back once in a while due to the slightly high price.

Babi Komplit Special Komplit your pork cravings by having 3 types of pork all in the Babi Komplit Special. It comes with full works of house speciality minced pork, char siew, roast pork, fried wanton and vegetables, served with a side soup and steamed wanton. They were generous with the amount of lard given in this bowl. The star of the show has got to be the al-dente noodles tossed in pork lard oil and sauce. The oil gives the noodles a robust slick of flavour and springy texture with every bite. The roast pork is nothing to shout about but I love the tender soft honey BBQ char siew for its good chew and bite without being overly fatty 》$9.88

Nasi Campur Babi Nasi Campur Babi is basically a medley of pork selection in one dish where they ‘campur’ everything into one plate. It is their version of pork mixed rice that includes homemade dishes like BBQ pork, roast pork, sweet pork satay, braised pig ear, siomay (better known as siew mai), soy egg and fried prawn beancurd roll. We are also given a choice between jasmine white rice or fragrant chicken rice. The rice comes pretty fragrant and well-executed with a strong aroma of Hainanese chicken rice that we are familiar with. The fragrant chicken rice complemented the sweetness of the pork and balanced out the smoky flavour of the BBQ meat. The roast pork meat was more on the lean side but lost its crispiness on the skin. My favourite out of the bunch was the char siew. It was well marinated, sweet on the outside and provided a good chew/bite without being overly fatty 》$12.88

Very interesting fusion food! Been a long time since I've eaten at this restaurant, and the quality is still pretty good! Here are the dishes I've tried: 1️⃣ C&C&C&C&C Pasta ($25.90 for main size) - yes their pasta name is interesting, but basically its filled with ingredients starting with C. This cold dish boasts of creamy seafood flavours coming from the crabmeat and lobster bisque! Pretty decent dish that is worth a try. 2️⃣ "Hainanese" Pork Tomahawk ($32.90) - I was surprised how meaty yet tender the pork cutlet was! The sauce that it's drenched in definitely reminds me of Hainanese chicken rice chilli, and the addition of fruit jam definitely made it interesting. It does not get too surfeiting because of that! However, there is still a slight pork smell that some may not like. 3️⃣ Waffles & Roe ($9) - an interesting dish, with deep earthy flavours coming from the waffles and seafood savoury punch from the ikura roe. This is a mix of sweet and savoury flavours that will open up your palette! With their menu changing every 4 months, you can see the innovative elements in their dishes. Will be back to try more dishes next time!

Signature Maki Then came the assortment of makis that we ordered. The TFS Signature Maki is a platter of their signature makis all in one plate, perfect option for those of you who can't make a decision. We also gave their Ebi Fry Maki and Spicy Salmon Maki a try, which we slowly savour throughout the night, with accompanying drinks and friendly conversations - no better way to end off the night!

Truffle ribeye A hole in the wall (quite literally), this restaurant is hidden along an alley on Amoy Street and you'd quite possibly walk on by if you haven't been paying attention or intentionally looking for it. We ordered a couple of dishes to share and started off with the Truffled Organic Ribeye Steak, which is a 200g NZ organic ribeye cooked to medium rare, topped with 5-6g of shaved truffles, accompanied by a bowl of grilled vegetables. Spotting a nice shade of copper red, this was flavourful and tender to say the least.

Passionfruit Sorbet 💰 / $6.90 Vegan ice cream that packs a punch of flavors. My order was the passionfruit sorbet with charcoal wholemeal cone (+$1). The sorbet was a tad too sour for my liking, it would be the perfect complementary flavor to a double scoop situation.

Dark chocolate & pecan hazelnut souffle pancake S$21.90 Soft and fluffy souffle with very generous amount of sauce and condiments. Very satisfying.

Most Instagrammable Cafe The term "Instagrammable Cafe" almost feels like a backhanded compliment, where it may be implied that the food quality can't match up to its aesthetics. Cafe De Nicole's Flower managed to dispel any of that notion by serving pretty food that taste pretty decent in a pretty setting. The Souffle Pancake was egg-cellent. It was eggy and fluffy and in my opinion one of the best souffle pancake around! They also serve an interesting menu of drinks, including the Uji Matcha and Sweet Potato Latte which i thought was pretty nice. The soy milk really brought the best out of the sweet potato and bitter matcha notes. For the others, i would rate the smoked salmon croissant as above average and the tart as below average. Roast Irish Duck Super succulent and moist, the Roast Irish Duck ($22/ Quarter) was another hit. A tad fatty and heavy but the glistening skin had that lovely crackling crispiness. One to share among 3 to 4 people, the protein was really well-executed. Would go great with a steaming bowl of rice.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun In the mood for fancy hor fun, The Dragon Chamber’s Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun ($32) ticked all the right boxes for me. Doused in a copious amount of rich truffle gravy; the slurpy noodles were so moreish. The wok fried flat noodles, crispy deep-fried hor fun strips, silky poached egg and slices of premium US Wagyu short rib came together nicely offering a myriad of fun textures. Though the sauce could definitely be more earthy and “truffle-y”, the hot savoury mix was flavourful without being cloying. The beef was tender too and seasoned well.

Wagyu Truffle Beef Hor Fun (S) | $32 Flat noodles wok fried served in a bowl with short rib and a poached egg was brought to the table, before the staff poured piping hot truffle gravy into it and mixed everything up for me before my eyes. Upon serving I was already wowed by the aroma, and with everything mixed up together as it should be, the flavours all worked out very well. Loved how the truffle gave that extra kick, and how the shortrib was decently tender. But what I really enjoyed was the deep fried hor fun strips which was a fun addition to the dish, with a nice crunch that blended with all the savouriness. Rate:🌟🌟🌟🌟
