Good For Groups & Celebrations Happy to have finally tried this eatery that I've heard about for so long and probably a familiar place for eastsiders. The à la carte menu is only available at Income building, Tampines. Their original location in Bedok has been converted to a wedding and events space. This seems like a popular place for gatherings and celebrations. During our lunch, there were two other big groups of diners, one having a team lunch and another group celebrating a colleague's promotion I think. Having both asian and western cuisine means it's more likely everyone can have something that they like. Prayer space is also available. Do check their FB page for the menu and ongoing promotions (there is a lot! I also dunno how to summarize it all)

Mushroom Soup ($5.80) & Garlic Bread ($5.70) The soup is nice but would've been better if it was more thick and rich. The garlic bread was delicious. Second time this week for me having good garlic bread. Is it because I love carbs and carbs love me? On a side note, I don't know why restaurants love using obnoxiously large serving plates like that. It takes up so much space on the dining table, and I can't imagine how you store a whole stack of it in the kitchen. If the aim is to impress, just use dining ware in a pretty colour or pattern. Space saving and more instaworty!

Spaghetti Bolognese ($5.90 lunch promo) A very hearty sauce of minced beef, tomato, herbs and a hint of spiciness. It's almost as good as my mum's bolognese! Really worth it for the price.

👉Beef Wellington👈 Aesthetic-wise, it was nothing like what I’ve expected but fortunately, the crusty puff pastry was well-executed. Sadly, I was disappointed by the tough beef tenderloin encased in it. There is still room for improvement 😄

Apple Pistachio Tart For dessert, we tried their Apple Pistachio Tart served with a scoop of Cookies and Cream Ice Cream ($9). It would have been better if we were given flavours to choose for the ice cream because somehow, cookies and cream did not complement the tart well. The tart too felt very dense. Overall, our experience was average (decent, at best) and the food at Commons is really just.... common. Not great, but not bad either. I’m so glad the price is affordable and their service professional 😊

Philly Submarine & Torpedo Fries Compared to legit Philly cheesesteak, this is nonsense (too stingy). In an alternate universe without cheesesteak, this is okay.

Beef BBQ Cheesesteak Sandwich Taste wise, good. Nothing to shout about. Just an ordinary beef sandwich with abundance of cheese. However, it was not that memorable. The beef needed some 'chews'. It was not that impressively packed, but good enough to fill me! That's all that matters to a hungry stomach. HAHA. The ambiance is great, especially in second floor. Homey and relaxing. Great for some gelato afternoons! 😘 #burpple

Thai Milk Tea and Sea Salt Caramel Gelato 🍦 Sooo fast to melt!!! I just moved for a few steps, it started to melt already. I liked the Sea Salt Caramel although, it was too sweet for me. Honey Oat Portobello This was some uniquely-hued burger buns! Tasted good tho! Loaded some carbs into ma' system, with a huge huge Portobello 🍄 that was juicy, succulent, thick & flavourful~ the smoked chipotle sauce was also decent! 3.4/5; would return to try other burgers with their other sauces next time!

Oyakudon Thigh with Japanese Rice (SGD$16.80) - juicy, grilled chicken parts with Japanese curry and sunny side-up egg atop the rice. The portions were generous but we thought that the dishes were a tad too salty.

would not recommend eating here I went on a Friday afternoon when the cafe was not crowded. Ordered the waffle with two scoops of icecream, which was recommended by others based on the reviews online. Was greatly disappointed with the waffle served as it was hard like cardboard instead of "crispy". The ice cream was also mediocre at best and nothing special. The presentation of the food was haphazard and honestly I expected much more when I paid $12.50 for this. They were also playing music from two different sound systems - clashing with each other which was annoying. Would never eat here again as the waffles which were supposedly their "speciality" is the worst waffles i've ever had. Overhyped by food bloggers online and I was greatly disappointed.

Grilled Squid (SGD $23) @ SOURCE & Offside Sports Bar. Would come back again for this. Large, lightly seasoned, bouncy, fresh squid, on crunchy greens. Chef Melvyn Lee gets it fresh from the market each morning!

Spiced Bacon Lollipop Stick (SGD $8) @ SOURCE & Offside Sports Bar. Love fats? Then you'll love this decadent treat put together by Chef Melvyn Lee. 5 layers of fatty, streaky bacon, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, each bite is a greasy, savoury, salty, sweet, spiced mouthful. Yum!

Prawn pesto ($25), Seabass ($28) Both dishes were good! Pesto sauce is thick & prawns were fresh. Skin of seabass was crispy.

Worth trying! Duck Confit Taglatelle - Smells amazing, and looks enticing! Tastes nice, though I personally prefer a stronger seasoning flavour when it comes to duck. The more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it though😄

Chocolate Popcorn ice cream($6.80). Maybe another excuse for some cheat treats! Do take note its is air poped, as such it is not as crispy as your butter poped popcorn however it means No trans fat and it is not GMO. What attracted me was the chocolatey taste. It is strong! Sweet Monster Popcorn Ice Cream Korea Combination of a smooth milk soft-serve topped with a variety popcorn that you can choose from. For the first time I shall get my hands on the crunchy chocolate. Oh yes!! I shall paired it with tiramisu too!!! Pretty, simple and delicious as well. Worth a try!!

Chicken Burger 🐱 - Chicken Burger ($22) The chicken patty is slightly oily, but luckily it’s not too dry on the inside — a common mistake in chicken burgers. The buns are nice and soft, the French fries crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the coleslaw is just, oh well, a typical coleslaw, nothing special. Also what’s with that lonely quarter-strip slice of the poor pickle when there’s room for more pickles…?!?!?!

Pancake with warm maple butter 🍵 - Pancake with warm maple butter ($20) w choice of blueberry (high recommendation), banana walnut or chocolate chunks. I really like their thick pancake but I managed to eat two of pancake pieces only. It was too much for me and good for sharing with people. The pancake got eggy taste and quite soft texture. The warm maple butter and blueberry sauce was really thick and sweet aftertaste. The sauce complemented well with the pancake 👍

Blueberry Pancakes We were lucky to try their pancakes before they close their Singapore outlet for good! The pancakes resembled that of mcgriddles muffins but more fluffy! The maple syrup was really thick and fragrant. However as the serving size was pretty big, this could get quite jelak towards the end. Nevertheless, still a wonderful plate of pancakes!

Truffle Pizza Extremely pleased with pizzaface’s truffle pizza. Hands down the best truffle pizza I have had . Perfect crust , good use of truffle paste and truffle oil for a good truffle flavour . Extremely fresh and high quality mushrooms . Looks easy but none have done it as right as them .

Parma Ham + Rocket Pizza Parma Ham + Rocket Pizza ($25+): The parma ham, arugula salas and shaved provolone cheese complements one another.

Salami + Confit Garlic Pizza Salami + Confit Garlic Pizza ($24+): Salami, confit garlic and roasted capsicum goes well together. The garlic and capsicum balanced the saltiness of the salami. Pizza crust is not too thick. Overall, it is quite a good pizza. The pizza is just nice for 2 person
