Organic mushroom aglio olio ($10.80), yes we know, the word organic can be quite off-putting but in this case, it wasn't. The pasta with fresh garlic, parsley, oregano together with sautéed mushrooms was seasoned well and had the right balance of salt and oil. Slurped it all up!

WA Cafe recently opened its second outlet at Shaw House last week and having a peek in was pretty irresistible. With an open glass facade, hanging tungsten lights and a queue, it piqued our interest.

We had to try the famous Matcha & Ogura Honey Toast ($16.80++). Yes, we find it pretty pricey, best if you share the dessert. (Share the love, right?) The exterior of the toast was crisp yet the centre was soft and fluffy where you can taste the sweet infused honey. The matcha ice cream was spectacular and the ogura added a somber taste to all the sweetness. Overall, it was good but a tad too expensive for essentially ice cream and bread.

We'd also recommend their omu/curry rice dishes if you're hungry and their coffee/soft serves for tea.

Less than a week to visit the Ramadan Bazaar at Geylang Serai to enjoy food and fun.

Ensure to bring your friends so you can have a bigger variety of food, snacks and beverages.

Pictured are the infamous decadent fried oreos that were encased with hot piping batter, drizzled with Hershey's chocolate sauce and accompanied with vanilla ice cream.

There are many other treats like coconut ice cream, churros, ramlee burgers and some traditional Malay dishes.

Pretty amazed at Poulet's take on Iberico pork belly ($15.80++). A braised Spanish Iberico pork belly served with awesome mash, leek confit and topped with double mustard.

The pork just dematerialises in your mouth and the mashed potato is so soft and buttery. We just licked the plate clean.

When you thought brownies with ice cream couldn't get more sinful, you thought wrong. Introducing BACON brownies with BACON ice cream. (Bacon brownies go for $4.50 each with the option to add a scoop of vanilla/bacon ice cream $8/9.) It isn't as overpowering as it sounds but the bacon bits add a pleasant saltiness to the ice cream, giving it a savory edge. And same goes for the ice cream.

Definitely ideal for sharing.

Another of our favourites from that evening at OMB (Oh My Bacon), the Beef & Bacon Cheeseburger ($17++). The beef patty was definitely the star of the dish. The juicy minced beef coated with a WHOLE layer of cheese and topped off with two perfect streaks of bacon will definitely make your day. To top it off, it comes with a generous portion of paprika fries that would make your hands restless.

We'd like to think of this as a lazy man's brunch. OMB (Oh My Bacon) offers the Egg & Bacon Cup ($12++) and it's probably one of the most genius ideas ever. You get the whole works in one bite: a runny fried egg and sun-dried tomatoes in a streaky bacon cup. On top of that (or below that), a bed of rösti that was perfectly prepared - neither soggy not hard but just right.

Would like to really thank @burpple and @ombsg for the opportunity to dine with them at its trademark #TastemakersEatup! Had so much fun!

We love old school and we also love old-school prices.

Rochor Beancurd House has a very humble interior. There are only some foldable tables and plastic stools. But we feel that just adds to the atmosphere.

The beancurd is really smooth and the pastries are light, flaky and flavorful but don't fall apart easily. Definitely a great place for a cheap tasty snack. We guess the average patron would spend between $2.50-$4.

Of course we couldn't go to Fat Cow and not have any... cow. We had its infamous Fat Cow Donburi set lunch ($39++) - slices of charcoal-grilled wagyu beef with onsen egg and shiro negi.

If you observe during lunch, this is pretty much what everyone is ordering. We were there early and saw the chefs prepping tens of beef filets on the grill for their lunch service.

We and the chef recommend that you order your meat medium-rare so you can bite into the juicy egg-coated wagyu beef slices... Oh yes.

Sashimi Moriawase - chef's selection of 13 pieces of premium sashimi.

Even though Fat Cow is know for its meat dishes. You still can't go wrong with their sashimi. It's a tad pricey ($48 for the set lunch) but it sends you straight to food heaven.
