My new favourite place for pizza - @thepizzacollective by Peperoni!

You can either select one of their signature pizzas or build-your-own at $14 with a refillable cold beverage! May I suggest build-your-own because you can have unlimited number of toppings from the 20 to choose from.

Not only is it affordable but the crust and the cheese makes this one of the best pizzas I've had in Singapore.

And on a side note! After a travelling stint, I'm finally back in Singapore to inform you all about the best eats!

Maru-Ten Udon' signature Sanuki udon (characterised by its square cross-section and flat edges) is produced from flour that meet high stringent standards and its dashi soup is prepared fresh daily using its own recipe.

Its curry udon is served with bits of chicken meat. The Japanese curry was not spicy but fragrant with carrot slices, potato chunks and Japanese red pickles added in the mix. The beef slices do not come with the curry udon but may be added at an additional charge, of course.

Throngs of people at Beach Road Scissors Cut Curry Rice during lunch.

Its popularity is still a testament to how yummy this stall's Hainanese curry rice is. The messy and gooey plate is an example of beauty in chaos. The fried pork chops and prawns are crispy even with the dousing of curry sauce, beansprouts and gravy. Still a favourite place for supper too!

The highlight of the night at Neon Pigeon.

The Grilled Duck Breast comes in small and large sizes for $21 and $40 respectively. (Large is pictured.) The duck breast was grilled to utter perfection and was sliced thinly to give it a soft yet fatty texture. It went perfectly with the "katsu curry" pumpkin purée. I'm not a fan of red Japanese pickles but everything came together in this dish.

Afternoon Tea à la Francaise is one of the festive menus offered by Kwee Zeen. The Parisian tea set is presented in a beautiful lacquer box which resembled a Vietnamese chest. As the box opened, a jingle started playing like a music box. It was a chest full of drawers that contained both sweet and savoury festive-themed pastries and a lovely selection of chocolates. Also as part of the Afternoon Tea, is a ’55% dark chocolate’ fondue fountain that pairs well with a wide range of fresh fruits. It is definitely a feast fit for royalty and Instagram.

The chirashi don that needs no introduction.

There is nothing normal about the normal chirashi don. Fresh thick slabs of raw salmon, aburi salmon, tuna, yellowfish, swordfish and scallop sashimi are plonked on a layer of Japanese rice. I loved the two slices of sweet tamago that came with it. It's a good treat to have once in a while!

In conjunction with Ricola, Emerald Hill No 5 has crafted three bespoke cocktails: The Ricola Maple Surprise (pictured), Ricola Special Whiskey and Ricola Swiss Herb Choco. They are available from now till 29 Feb 2016 at $19 for two. My favourites are the mojito-like Special Whiskey and the sweet Swiss Herb Choco.

The infamous Battle of the Crabs Buffet is back at @parkroyalkitchener! I feasted to my heart's content on twelve different flavours of crabs - from the classic Singapore Chilli Crab and Salted Egg Yolk & Butter Crab to the innovative, Stewed Kimchi Crab and Stir-fried Crab with Jalapeño. My favourite of the night was the signature Slow-braised Pumpkin Crab served in a claypot.

The crabs buffet dinner is available every Thu-Sat till 13th Dec, 6-10pm and very reasonably priced at $75++ per adult. $60++ for UOB, DBS and Maybank cardholders.

Big, succulent prawns all nicely slit and cleaned and fried and tumbled in that glorious salted egg yolk sauce, jazzed up with hints of chilli padi and curry leaves.

If you're familiar with the bar @bittersandlove, there's a new concept within the same premises offering coffee, breakfast, lunch and takeaways.

It's called @free.the.robot and it just opened today (24 Nov)! I had a pleasant cup of Woolloomooloo blend latte ($5) as well as breakfast - homemade beef meatballs cushioned by a bed of fragrant jasmine rice, $11.

One bite of the beef meatballs, you can definitely tell that it's homemade. They had a nice meaty grit and they crumble in your mouth which isn't present in processed meatballs. The rice was slightly wet which made it easy to go down. Overall, it was simple comfort food that I could keep coming back for.

The tenchirashi soba ($17.80++) from Shimbashi Soba is my dad's and my favourite.

It is served with copious amounts of crispy tempura (prawns, mushrooms, vegetables). It's amazing how the tempura stays crisp over the bed of chilled soba and broth. What I love to do is order an upsized portion of soba (+$5), mix wasabi and the onsen egg together with the soba, broth and tempura. You get an utterly delicious meal after!

When I was scouring Whampoa Market looking for something to eat. This dish caught my eye. (There's something about those golden crumbs and the slightly yellowish basmati rice that make it look so scrumptious.) There was a number of people having it so it really piqued my curiosity.

When I arrived at the Malay stall, the owner was busily packing about a hundred styrofoam packets as someone made a huge bulk order. Hmmm. Must be popular.

I ordered the ginger fried chicken rice. The garlic and ginger tones were subtle. The fried skin was crispy while the chicken meat was still tender and juicy. The best part would be dipping it in the spicy soy sauce and chilli. You ought to try it!
