One off the wish list!

Tendon Kohaku boasts queues with long waiting times. However, I managed to sneak in at the last hour at the Circular Road outlet without queueing.

I can totally understand the hype. For S$19.50++, the Kohaku Tendon Set is totally worth it. There's a generous portion of tempura - big prawns, squid, chicken filet, baby corn, long beans, mushrooms and pumpkin - all on top of premium steamed rice from Hokkaido. It also comes with udon soup which makes a great complement to the intense flavours of the tendon.

Call it magic

The White Magic (S$6.90) is a refreshing brew perfect for Singapore's blazing heat. It's made of 50% Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Red Cherry and 50% El Salvador San Carlos (as described on the bottle). For a white brew, it has a nice kick of caffeine to get you about your day which I love.

Finally got some time to go out for a proper meal and a great one it was!

Man Man Unagi Restaurant has been on my wish list for the longest time and I'm so glad to have tried this place. I understand now why this restaurant garners such long queues.

The large hitsumabushi (S$39.80+) comes with three different styles of eating - by its own, with condiments such as wasabi and with broth. The unagi is so fresh, evident from all the live eels in the tank.

It was such a satisfying meal. I will definitely be back for more.

Friend recommended this super shiok hokkien mee to me at Circuit Road.

When I arrived at the food centre, many were digging in into this orange plate of hokkien mee ($3/4/5). Apparently it's been around for quite a few years and is popular with the Macpherson residents.

The wet gravy was full of flavour and wok hei which was impressive considering that they don't overload with the pork lard. The seafood was fresh though I wish the stall owners gave more as I ordered a $5 portion. It's one of my favourite hokkien mee stalls now.

Sad that Tiong Bahru Market is temporarily closed and can't get your lor mee fix? Fret not!

There's still one of my favourite lor mee stalls in Lavender. The gravy is of the perfect thick viscosity but what makes this so good is the fried fish! The fried fish retains its crisp texture despite floating in the gravy. I wiped out this $5 bowl of lor mee clean!

Soya sauce chicken that's mind blowing good.

It's been a few days since our #BurppleAMKHawkers trail but I can still reminisce the exact taste from my first bite of this chicken.

Expect thick slices of juicy and succulent chicken that's been wonderfully doused in a well-balanced soya sauce marinade. I'll definitely bring my family here to try it! #burpproved

Wondering where to go for brunch? There's a Jazz Brunch that serves free flowing champagne, house wines, house spirits, draft beers and soft drinks!

Probably the first ever in Singapore, enjoy brunch with the titillating sounds of jazz music from a live band. For S$98++, treat yourself to a four-course meal, starting with hearty openers like chicken salad with cherry tomatoes, purple onions and avocados. Then proceed on to have your mains which you can have breakfast options like eggs Bene, breakfast hash to more savoury options like their infamous BB King Burger (pictured) and spanner crab spaghettini. Also not to be missed is their live station where they'll serve up the most tender BBQ Louisiana ribs and a gorgeous melted raclette cheese to go with seasonal vegetables and selected breads. Also, end of the spread on a sweet note with desserts, choose from the likes of fluffy pancakes with mascarpone cream to sticky date pudding.

The food is great especially the mains and live station options but the dessert was unfortunately a tad dry. The Jazz Brunch is a steal for $98 if you intend to fill yourself up with lots of bubbly. 😉

The perfect bar snack complement to a night of cocktails.

The Bikini Sandwich from Sugarhall is grilled cheese to another level. Just think of prosciutto, BURRATA cheese and truffle butter all sandwiched between two toasted slices of bread.

It'll prepare you for many more rounds of drinks for sure!

The ultimate bomb.com is the black devil chocolate cake ($10.00). Especially when warm, the whiffs of dark chocolate permeate the air. Upon biting into the cake, it sent my synapses into a frenzy, discerning between moist, fluffy and light. It's so good. Best enjoyed with scoops of Alfrero gelato! #burpproved

The muffins are excellent here. They're both moist yet fluffy. There's a wonderful aroma when one breaks it apart. My favourites would include cream cheese, chocolate and blueberry (classics $1.80 ea, signatures $2.50 ea).

An explosion of flavours in a bowl 💥💥💥

For $3.50, one gets a large hearty bowl of Penang Assam laksa. First, you'll get hit by the fragrance of Assam which will make you wanna order it. The sweetish prawn paste mixes perfectly with the sour tamarind and complements all the strong flavours like lemongrass, pineapples and onions. Every bite is both refreshing and savoury! 😝 Ensure to mix well before eating!

I wish I was having this for breakfast right now!

The first bite left me in a state of wonder as I discovered the sheer amount of white radish and eggs. It is the same throughout the whole carrot cake. Even after a good duration of time, the dish still retains its texture because of the filling. The sweet chilli that comes with the carrot cake is ace. It would have been perfect if the cake was fried longer, leaving a crisper exterior.

This stall sells only white carrot cake but when it's this good, it's okay with me. 😘
