There was plenty to eat at Shio & Pepe (within Emporium Shokuhin). From the vast menu of Japanese and Italian fusion dishes, we had a tasting menu and my favourite was the Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Rice.
I like my omelette soft and runny with a bit of bite so this was perfect. Under the fluffy blanket of egg was a generous portion of tomato fried rice. The cream sauce went well with the egg and rice but nothing beats a savoury demi-glace that we're all familiar with.
Have you visited the new Singapore flagship Magnum Pleasure Store at ION Orchard?
Immerse yourself in the "Make My Magnum" experience which entails customising your own bespoke Magnum ice-cream. With the classic vanilla bean ice cream, coat it with either dark, milk or white Magnum Belgian chocolate. Then choose three toppings from a plethora available including the classic almonds and pistachios to adventurous additions such as popping candy, rose petals and even chili flakes.
In addition, there are five Magnum coffees you could try at the Pleasure Store - a first in Asia - the M Espresso, Magnumccino, Magnum Mocha, Magnum Black and Magnum Affogato!
So glad there's a 24/7 dessert spot to satisfy hunger pangs any hour of any day.
Every bingsu that Nunsongyee serves is immaculately prepared. Each bowl has a hefty amount of ingredients yet it's not too filling, but more refreshing and satisfying. Choose from premium flavours such as my favourite Green Tea Bingsu to the light fluffy Snow White Bingsu.
Tastes as wonderful as it looks.

Sautéed scallop on Japanese somen noodles with 64-degree Celsius sous vide egg yolk in bonito-kombu broth topped with violet tuille. Sounds like a mouthful but this petite dish hit the spot. The scallop was perfectly cooked but what garnered my interest was the bright pink broth. The umami from the bonito kombu combi makes the smooth cool somen irresistible. Definitely a refreshing way to start a meal!
A late night Japanese option.
We were wandering the Bay Area for late night eats. We stumbled upon Japanese Restaurant & Bar Yamakazi. It opened till 11pm and we were in luck. I ordered a chirashi and when they served it, it was terrible. It looked like a cheap garden salad with only five thin pieces of sashimi. I refuse to pay $32++ for that. Naturally, I complained. Found out that it was a kitchen hand that made my chirashi and not the Japanese chef. The wait staff apologised and got the chef to prepare one for me.
After a lengthy wait, I got my bara chirashi sushi (S$32.80++) 2.0. It came with sashimi cubes of salmon, tuna and kanpachi yellowtail together with actual crabmeat sticks, tamago and ikura roe! Pretty good for a chirashi served at 10:30pm! (Swipe right for before.)
It was quite an ordeal but had a good meal at the end of the day. Here's hoping to win an 18-course omakase meal at Ryo Sushi for my friends and I for #BurppleSushiMonth!
Another favourite of mine, a signature from Artistry, is its Chilli Crab Burger (S$25++).
This crabby patty is solid in the metaphorical sense. Though it's wonderfully fried, one can still taste the freshness of the handpicked blue swimmer crabmeat.
The chilli crab sauce has been tweaked from the previous menu - less spicier to accommodate for more persons to enjoy. However, it's still addictive. I wiped the bowl of sauce clean with anything I could find: the crab cake, the toasted sundried tomato bread buns and the crispy shoestring fries. Love, love, love!

The Artistry Cafe has introduced a new menu today and it's great.
It still serves fantastic brunch dishes that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. Take this modern approach to a classic "Steak & Eggs" (S$28++). It's a 300g of sliced 150-days grain fed pure Angus beef striploin that comes in the default medium doneness that's just full of flavour from the herbs and seasoning. It come with two 62 deg onsen eggs and my favourite element on the plate, the smashed Japanese pumpkin. They should really make this a side dish!

Be still my heart.
The Artichoke Fried Chicken is some pretty darn good fried chicken. The sweet honey-lemon glazed chicken skin is mighty crispy yet the meat remains incredibly juicy. It's accompanied by a few sides of tahini (toasted ground hulled sesame seeds) coleslaw, Lebanese pickles, paprika fries. There's also a toum garlic dip that goes with everything. Just make sure to bring mints along!
Still good but it's smaller now.
One of the better beef hor fun dishes in Singapore. The consistency of the gravy is perfect and the intensity of the pepper is just there. Also important, the wok hei is what differentiates it from other restaurants.
My only gripe would be the portion. For $22, this could barely feed four persons. It felt like a portion that was meant for two. Next time, try ordering individually.
The croquetas from @pimpambyfoc were simply wonderful.
I had two variations, crab and spinach & pine nuts ($2.5 and $2 per pc respectively). The breaded crust on these bite-sized babies were beautifully crunchy. The piping hot creamy fillings were bursting with flavour. They make for great starters for a nice meal ahead.

Yoghurt that's out of this world.
This unique take on yoghurt makes the price tag worth it. For $10, you get a jar of this wonderfully aerated and fluffy slightly sweet yogurt and three additional toppings. Toppings range from granola to fresh fruits, honey and chocolate chips. Do ask the server for more options.
This light refreshing dish is good for dessert, on its own, or however. Just order it!

NEED!
After a hectic week, all one needs is this San Juan Cooler from Sugarhall. The concoction made of Bacardi Carta Blanca, passionfruit, lime, Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic and topped off with green grapes, makes this a refreshing and palatable drink with a kick. I wish this came in a jug.
