Green Curry Being a coffee shop managed by Thai people, many people would come here for their authentic Thai foods in one of the stall. Ocean Thai Food served various Thai foods including the green curry, coming in a hot pot with lots of chicken meats and other ingredients inside. The soup was really tasty and wasn’t too spicy. $7 with a plate of rice.

Pesto Olio With Seabass This casual Italian dining cafe is situated at Sembawang Shopping Centre, just a shuttle bus away from nearby MRTs. With a small grass-patched area for young kids to play, it provides a homely feel that is great for family gatherings. What’s more, it’s Halal certified too! At that affordable NETT price-tag, it was better than expected. Just simple comfort food, nothing much to rave about. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great Pasta In An Ulu Neighbourhood My fellow Sembawang peeps would know that our sad ulu Neighbourhood has nothing much to offer. However, this pasta shop in Sembawang Shopping Centre is worth visiting!🙆🏿💕 My favourite would be the pepper cream sauce pasta that's not too jelat, which is something quite rare to experience when eating cream based pasta 😋 I have paired it with salmon and grilled chicken during my 2 trips there and they are both really good!! The chicken might be slightly too salty for some though. 🌚 Damage: $8.90 ✏️ Rating: 8/10

Thai Pink Milk A much needed reprieve from the unbearable heat, Waan Cha offers a selection of macarons, puddings and pretty unique tea blends apart from the classic Thai milk tea. The Thai Pink Milk ($3.30), which I tried, was surprisingly pleasant and light with a tinge of rose-like sweetness. Having picked it just for its colour, the creamy smooth body of the drink reminded me of bandung but with a distinctive flavour that I just couldn’t pinpoint. Hence, the friendly lady boss working behind the counter shared with me that the hint of acidity was from the salak fruit, or better known as the snake fruit, flavoured syrup. Perhaps an acquired taste, the slight astringent edge of the syrup might not be for everyone but I rather enjoyed it as it was well-balanced and not overly sweet.

Thai Milk Tea Decent thai milk tea starting at $3.20 per cup. They sell flavours like ovaltine milk tea, or rose (bandung) thai milk tea. But I heard the bandung is the worst. The thai milk tea tastes pretty decent, like every other thai milk tea I've tried. It's definitely sweet, but not overly sweet. The tea aroma is pretty strong and can be tasted distinctively. They don't put too much ice into the cup, so you do get a decent portion to drink. But the location, isn't fantastically convenient, you have to walk across Novena mrt to get to Novena agency, just for thai milk tea. But they also sell macarons. There's indoor seating for like 6 people, with lawn/outdoor tables and chairs. I would recommend coming to this place after you've had a meal at Novena regency to get some smooth and cooling thai milk tea. :)

Service lacking graciousness very confusing Burpple Beyond rules for this establishment, so we clarified w the waitress, who told us that the tacos were 2 for 1, that the pair of more expensive tacos would be charged. But when we made payment, it turned out that we were informed wrongly. Yet, the cashier on duty did not give us the 1-for-1 as the waitress had initially told us. Orange Ginger Juice Orange ginger juice-refreshing, strong ginger taste that strangely did not leave a bad after taste

Steak And Mash [$24] Slow cooked wagyu, truffle mash, mushroom, asparagus, kampot pepper. Beef was tender even though we asked for medium. Truffle mash was a little too buttery for my liking, slightly on the dense side making me find it hard to get through for parts without the gravy. Enjoyed the mushroom and asparagus which paired perfectly well. Overall, it's pretty good for cafe standards!

Hotcake & Fried Chicken [$15] Hotcakes, lemon battered drumstick and maple syrup. Hotcakes was real fluffy! Chicken was juicy, and batter on drumstick tasted pretty good, not too heavily breaded. Secretly liked how the maple syrup got on the chicken giving it that tinge of sweetness. Added on poached eggs for $4.

Earl Grey Handmade icecream by the folks behind Group Therapy. It's been a while since I've been wowed by a store selling homemade icecream but this is pretty great if I may say so. If you're game do try their honey Bak Kwa - if they haven't already run out of it.

The closest I can get to Seoul 🇰🇷 with this Potato Tornado $3 because most of the ones I had in sg were unsatisfying. Here, the deep fried potato slices were neither thin nor thick and sprinkled w the right seasoning, this swirl-cut potato stick was pretty addictive. 🍢
