Featuring wobbly, fatty, juicy meat with a mountain of bao behind. I've been eating this since I was a kid, and I kid you not, it's one of the best around, and it has been consistent all these years. The pork brisket has been braised for hours, leaving the meat tender, succulent and full of flavour. Throw in some cilantro into your pork bun for a refreshing taste in every bite.

This restaurant also serves up many of my favourite go to dishes, such as hei zo, oyster omelette and hokkien style noodles. It's a family favourite, and I hope it'll be yours too.

I had this as part of their 3 course set lunch menu (from $18++). The beef was tender, there was a good mix of the shank and tendon. It was flavourful as well. The noodles were well coated with what I assume was the braising sauce as well as a touch of mala, which added a nice spicy and numbing kick to an ordinary bowl of noodles.

For the price, it is a good place to bring clients to or catch up with a friend, as the place has a nice ambience and is not crowded with the lunch crowd.

I had this as my main as part of the 8 course set ($32.8++). This place has totally changed my opinion about vegetarian food. It was amazing! I always thought vegetarian food lacked in depth in terms of flavour, but every dish I had in the course meal blew my mind. This man dish stood out to me.

I loved how there were a myriad of textures and flavours in a bite. The mushrooms were very flavourful and there were some crispy bits wrapped into the rice roll. It was really satisfying to eat, and I felt good knowing that everything was fresh and healthy.

It's really worth a try! It's so good it's going onto my favourites list.

One of the eggier egg tarts around, I liked how it wasn't too sweet so I could taste the egg. Custard was smooth and silky, a very solid egg tart.

Go for the thick version! One of the most satisfying tom yum soups I've had - just the right amount of spicy and tang, I actually finished all the soup from the huge bowl!

Our accompanying dishes, the Kang Kong and garlic pork, completed the entire me with perfection. I like how the garlic pork has bits of crispy garlic served with it, and is slightly sweet, which was the balance to the hearty soup.

The queue speaks for its affordability and popularity! Do remember they only take cash, so bring some for your meal!

I was never too big a fan of bagels but this changed my opinion of bagels completely! The garlic bagel was super fragrant with speckles of crispy garlic on the top. The beef was done really well - nothing like the other steaks in sandwiches which are tough and everything gets dragged along in one bite. This was tender and separated on each bite. Overall it was a good mix of flavours with the oozy cheese, juicy mushrooms and tangy mustard!

I call this the salad place that puts in a lot of effort. I love how some of the veggies are cooked and seasoned first, which makes this salad a more satisfying meal compared to others, as it has more variety of flavours and is a warm meal! My favourite supplement would be the asparagus - not only is it a rare find for salad places, it is nicely seasoned and sautรฉed to softness.

Overall $12 for 1 protein, 1 carb, 3 supplements, 1 topping and sauce, it's a good deal as servings are generous and it is a very satisfying salad to have.

The grilled chicken was one of the more well seasoned ones out there! The salad leaves were just nicely coated with the right amount of Japanese sesame dressing. The shredded carrot added a nice touch of sweetness and texture. The avocado cannot be seen in the picture, but I was pleasantly surprised as well to find it under the egg! It was creamy and perfect, unlike many salad places where their avocado can be slightly unripe and tough. Overall I loved everything. The balance of flavour was good, and the dressing was subtle and complemented the dish rather than overpower it.

This place is famed for their unique dish, which consists of a fried prawn ball, two wantons, two pieces of charsiew and mee kia noodles. I really liked how all of the noodles were coated with the sauce, it was just nice and not too wet. The charsiew was done really well, nicely thick as well. The wontons were a winner for me - juicy and filled fully with prawns! I guess the half hour wait and the lunch crowd still made it worth it for me.

This place was bustling with the lunch crowd! It not only has pretty aesthetics but the food is pretty solid too. Despite the crowd the food came promptly. The pork belly was beautifully braised, meat was tender, and the fatty bits and skin melts in your mouth. Tastes really close to good lu rou bowls in Taiwan! Worth a try definitely!
