I am a big fan of gills and shells. They offer really really good food and I enjoyed the salted egg pasta with tiger prawns. It's heavenly. The taste is flavourful, the salted egg well mixed into the pasta. The portion is just right and the flavours are so aromatic, you get satisfaction once the food reaches your stomach. Awesome stuff!
I visited fasta on a weekend but my honest view is that it's more suited for the working crowd. It's a healthy bowl which allows for mix and match pasta choices and the portions are very generous. I just add that the food isn't hard to eat but as a pasta lover, I still prefer restaurants pastas
The kohaku spicy tendon at suntec is pretty interesting and relatively tasty. I queued 1 hour for it which is probably due to the slightly dispassionate staff. I found the tendons to be fried well and patted dry of the oil before serving. The chilli definitely helps in making the meal much tastier. It also helps that the food is pretty affordable for restaurant food.
Had this Thai Wonton Mee after my badminton session. It's really pretty good. Basically it taste like Sarawak Kolo Mee but resonates with me because of my love for this type of noodles. It's not exactly the healthiest choice because of the huge reliance on lard oil but it's not a bad idea for an occasional indulgence. Super long queue though, be prepared to wait!
This Ike bowl that looks like a Japanese pond not only looks aesthetically fantastic. The blend of flavours was done well too! I particularly enjoyed the mochi combined with sesame ice cream and sesame biscuit. It's something I can order on it's own and enjoy it as it is! This is a perfect place who loves food photography and desserts.
Michelin Star restaurant. It's didn't exactly meet my Singaporean palette expectations but I give it to them that the execution was technically astute. You can't fault the chef but it's not spectacular
I'm personally amazed by the popularity of this dish. I honestly don't particularly enjoy it because I felt the chicken parts aren't so meaty that it's easy to eat. You can add vegetables and noodles into the pot on the side but overall very ordinary. I see it's as a neighbourhood comfort food kind of place.
This porcini mac and cheese really takes mac and cheese level up one notch. It's served with caviar and scallops and cost less than $20. This is exceedingly good value for the ingredients used. I felt the portions were just right and the level of cheesiness not overly excessive making the dish easy to enjoy. It's by far the most value for money mac and cheese I've tried! Had this dark and white chocolate soft serve on a slab of Belgian waffles. It's a pretty enjoyable meal only that it's really tiny for its price. The waffle was only the size of my palm, you can imagine. I felt that the staff attentiveness for a premium cafe is also lacking. It makes the price feels expensive because there's no value in the food nor the service. But if one is feeling indulgent, I enjoyed my soft serve with waffle.
The ever changing menu of South Union Park kinda forcefully left me with the choice of this interesting looking dessert. It's basically carrot cake with molten lava white chocolate with a big scoop of yogurt at the top with carrot sauce sandwiched in between the carrot cake. It's taste pretty alright except for the sourish yogurt which I failed to appreciate. I found the sourness overwhelmed the white chocolate and even the carrot cake. When I tried the dessert without the yogurt it tasted much better. Perhaps South Union Park was trying a bit too hard on this one, they should have stuck to something simpler.
Tried this aglio olio with crab meat and I'm filled with approval over their generous chunky crab meat. I also liked it that the pasta was al dente and filled with garlic flavour. Pretty value for money in my opinion given that the ingredients isn't stingy at all.

Tried this terrarium and to be frank I only took a bite. That's because it's scattered with mint leaves and I don't take that at all. I enjoyed my sole bite which felt addictive particularly because the cold sponge mixed with cream and cookie crumbs tasted like an ideal dessert.
