We used the Entertainer 1-for-1 deal and the bill was approx $18 per pax, so I would say it's rather worth it with the promo. Would probably come back again if there are future deals, or when I feel like treating myself π€£
Loved the mala soft shell crab pasta, and I consider the dish a steal at the promo price!
The Chug Chug pasta was a seafood and roasted pork belly combi with salted egg sauce. Tasted pretty interesting , but gets gelat after a while.
Scallop mentaiko pasta was not bad, although I prefer other similar dishes at other restaurants.
Satay meat chunks were bigger than expected but meat was quite hard, took a while to chew and eat.
Photo opportunities are abundant on level 2 with its Retro whimsical design that reminded me of Alice in Wonderland.
Have fun dining and camwhoring! (:
Soup was comforting albeit a tad salty. Tempura were also relatively crispy even though we went after peak lunch hours. Staff were friendly and provided more free flow condiments upon request.
Had this once during lockdown (takeaway) and didn't had such a good impression. Glad that I gave it another chance today (: Food really tastes better when eaten on the spot.
Worth a try with Burpple deal 30% off (:
Initially skeptical of the Nian Gao waffles, we are now totally hooked on it. Best part of it all, the shop is only a stone's throw away from home.
Sandwiched between the waffles layers, the QQ texture of the Nian Gao provides an interesting dimension to the dessert. It wasn't as 'gelat' as I thought it would be. In fact, its unique taste had us begging for more.
Will certainly be back to try out other ice cream flavours too!
Explored this new gem in town upon my friend's recommendation and wow there's really many unique flavours on the menu.
We opted for grapefruit tea and aiyu lemon tea since we were still full from lunch during our visit.
The drinks didn't disappoint, and I will definitely be back to try other interesting flavours such as their custard boba and cream cheese grape (and to utilise my burpple deals; I didn't realise it was on Burpple when we made the purchase oops)
Managed to utilise 2 1-for-1 deals as we had 4 diners and the food is really good! I will definitely come back here again even if the promotions end.
We ordered a couple of dishes for sharing - mentaiko pasta, unagi fried rice, mentaiko scallops, chicken nanban, truffle fries.
As a fan of mentaiko pasta, this reminded us of our good old school days hanging out at the now defunct Five And Dime, which served fabulous mentaiko pasta. While the portion may seem small for one diner, sharing arrangement is perfect for the pasta as I suspect it may get more 'gelat' if one has more of it.
Mentaiko scallops were juicy and fragrant, we totally dipped our truffle fries in too so that we do not waste any of the sauce.
Couldn't taste much unagi in the fried rice given the portion and lighting, perhaps it's better for 1 pax! Mildly disappointing for an unagi fan like me, but then again, I guess good unagi can always be found elsewhere in other Japanese restaurants.
Chicken nanban was so-so, can consider ordering it to try for the first time, but it shouldn't be on my list for returning orders in future.
Highly recommend the mentaiko pasta, scaloops and truffle fries! Looking forward to dining in during happy hours soon to try out their alcoholic drinks.
I had a yuzu soda this time round, and it was refreshing as well (:
Ended our weekend night by driving down to Dabao Gelato and it's worth using the Burpple Deal.
The staff were very patient with us choosing the flavours and re payment mode (both of us usually go cashless nowadays).
We had to take the last cone available as it was already pretty late and the staff didnt charge us for it as there was some aesthetic defects in the cone. Really appreciate their integrity towards customer service.
Shop was small and cosy for a chillax night out too (and we finally understood why it was called Dabao Gelato as seats were limited).
Will definitely try again when we are in the area!
Location: Orchard Gateway, B2
Finally got to try their pho which was just what I needed after a tiring week of work. It is a comfort food which I will definitely go back for again.
Tried pork pho ($7) and pork balls pho ($7) today. The soup totally took my breath away as it tasted so wholesome and reminded me of homecooked flavour π Finished all my soup and I will definitely order extra soup the next time I come.
Portion wise was just nice for myself who is a small eater. If you have a bigger appetite or is really hungry, you may wish to consider adding sides and/ or drinks.
The store is run by a deaf couple, and one of the owners, Anthony, whom we interacted with was very friendly!
I personally feel that F&B biz have been quite badly affected with the pandemic, so do support their business if you can! :)
Went for the Double serving ($19.80 before gst and service charge) and they were quite generous in their servings.
If Man Man took my breath away, then I would say this is relatively on par given the value price point. Worth trying and will go again
