Found this stall serving pretty decent western food in Liang Court.

The beef stew comes with boiled vegetables and the truffled mushrooms comes served with a soft boiled egg. Both came along with mash potatoes on the sides

Taste good and is pretty affordable!

This stall had traditional vibes to it that makes you wanna give it a try.

Ordered the large Braised Platter ($8) and large Pig Organ Soup ($5.50) to try out.

The braised platter comes with generous servings of large intestines, belly cuts and pickled vegetables. The large intestines tasted clean without any tainted smell / flavor to it. Belly cuts tasted light without being too heavy.

The soup comes with generous serving of your assorted parts. Soup is very comforting and light ad well. Makes you wanna gulp down the soup.

Should give this place a try!

The ramen came pretty well presented. It doesn't come with the egg so you have to pay $2 for the add on.

Noodles are a little soggy for my liking. The shoyu broth has the taste of bonito and generally light. The cha siu is kinda meh.

Price is steep for this kind of quality. There are way better options for this price range.

Famous white coffee and toast in old town! The kaya is a good match to the coffee! All these awesome stuff for under RM10.

Come and give it a try if you are in Ipoh.

I can’t help but smile at the name of this popular soya beancurd shop but the quality of their “tau fu fah” (that’s the Cantonese name for this local dessert) is not to be laughed at.
Fabulously soft, smooth and silky, it simply melts away in the mouth. I love the very light brown clear syrup it is doused in as it has a richer sweetness than the typical colourless kind.
What makes this place extra unique is you can drive up in a car, wind down the window to place your order, get the “tau fu fah” served to you and when you’ve slurped it up, have your empty bowl collected. All within the span of a minute. Which explains the long queue of cars usually found snaking around the block leading up to “Funny Mountain”.

Once you find a table and settle down, a man with a tray will suddenly appear and rapidly plonk down multiple plates of the same custard pudding on the table. You have to decide how many of them you want to keep to eat. He then collects the rest, pile the plates back onto the tray and whisks them away to the next table.
Great sales tactic. Not that it is needed because I would happily queue for these - they are very good with an eggy richness and slightly burnt caramel aroma.

Trying out the new place for grilled unagi. Had the hitsumabushi.

The unagi is well grilled and dipped in sauce. It's slightly crunchy and the charcoal taste does come through. Pity the dashi was a little dull and doesn't really lift up the dish.

Overall still a pretty decent place. Come earlier to avoid queueing.

Walked past this new store at Eastpoint and couldn't resist after smelling the 卤味. Went in straight and ordered the specialty with pork belly and skin, tofu and egg.

The 卤汁 is done so well. Very rich soy sauce and flavorful with hints of Chinese herbs. When eaten with the duck it is light and doesn't overwhelm you with grease. The pork belly and skin just melts in your mouth. The egg is cooked properly without overcooking.

It's quite a enjoyable experience. Ended up sipping the 卤汁 haha. Will come again.

Had a 1 for 1 Confit De Canard. Was surprised that the duck is finished like deep fry but it isn't too oily.

The duck is crispy, tender and falls off the bone. The mash is buttery and fragrant. When paired with the sauce it's pretty awesome.

Value for money definitely.

Possibly a contender to 88 roast. The roast pork is crispy and flavorful. The char siew is dry on the thin sides but still tasted very good.

Gotta try with 88 roast side by side.

🤔 They are supposed to be closed on Mondays though.

Finally got to try their salad. Famished comes with a protein of your choice. I chose the roasted beef.

Smells fantastic when paired with some roasted eggplant and tomatoes. Now I'm famished.
