Yummy In The Tummy Tried the prawn risotto and oxtail lasagne. Prawn risotto: slightly wetter than usual risotto but it was the most amazing flavour ever. Could taste the prawn and herb flavour in every bite. Prawns were slightly over cooked, which was a bit disappointing for Jamie’s standard. But seriously, the risotto was so amazing I loved it more than the prawns. Oxtail lasagne: fresh tomato base, go in expecting less béchamel than a normal lasagne recipe and you won’t be disappointed. Oxtail would have been better if it was in chunks, unfortunately it was shredded and ended up smushy against the al dente lasagne sheets.

My Favourite Bread The garlic bread comes in four, but gobbled two before realising it’s photo-worthy too. Crusty on the outside but super fluffy on the inside, bread was totally not dry or tough. Garlic and herb flavour was amazing, and goes super well with the mozzarella inside it. Totally recommended!!!!!!

Seafood donburi is really good We tried out the seafood donburi and truffle beef donburi. Both were good, but the seafood donburi was the better of the 2 with the variety of seafood (unagi, seaweed, shrimp, scallop). With the egg on top of the seafood donburi, the entire combination blended very well together. The beef was overall good, just with some bits slightly tougher to chew.

Seafood Donburi In Hotstone Bowl - Yum 🤤 This had a nice umami taste of the seafood mix- scallop, prawn🍤, fish roe, unagi and topped with an onsen egg. Yummilicious! As it is being served in a hotstone bowl, the dish came hot and I love the rice which is fragrantly charred. Highly recommended! 😋

Biggest con job The Burpple offer was for a set meal for 2 at $98 plus taxes. Offer was to take $40 off. The meal shoved you with too much food so as to justify the price, and when the bill came it was $116+after the Burpple voucher and taxes. Who needs so much food for lunch except for the outlet to force sell you as much food as possible? And you could not even have a 3rd person join in coz they said the Burpple offer or the restaurant disallows it. Please NEVER go there. Don't be scammed like me.

Babi Assam ($19.90) The restaurant’s signature pork belly simmered in an aromatic tamarind stew, served with tau kwa and chillies. A very flavourful dish with the spices really shining through. The pork belly was super fatty (more fats than meat honestly, and whether that is a good or bad thing is up to you), it literally melts in your mouth. Burpple Beyond also has a set meal deal here - we didn’t use it this time as we decided to order ala carte.

Decent Cheese Katsu! Back at @onkei.tonkatsu to try their other tonkatsu variations and was satisfied with their Cheese Rosu-Katsu Set ($19.90)! The pork fillet was quite well fried till golden brown and it was stuffed full of cheese! The meat itself may be a little dry, but it is definitely meaty. The chicken is best paired with the tonkatsu sauce, which was pretty tangy to cut the rich fat flavour from the cheese and meat fillet. They offer free refills of rice, soup and cabbage, and I liked the soup the best due to its rich meaty and umami flavours. This may not be one of the best tonkatsu I've eaten, but it's definitely decent, filling and affordable. A great lunch option for the offices nearby!

Chicken Katsu and Tempura Chicken Katsu is soft and Tempura is crispy. Not too oily. Cabbage is crunchy.

Karage and Oyster Karage is very soft. Oyster is fresh

Khao Pad It smelled good but after a while it lost the strength of good Thai fried rice.

$5.50 Thai Meal This meal cost $5.50 There was a Crispy egg w runny centre. minced chicken tasted mainly of oyster n soy sauce needed more basil flavour and spice to make it more authentic. For the price I'd expect somewhat of a better quality though.

Pad Thai It feels jelak trying to finish this plate of pad thai because it is very greasy with not much taste. At least the texture of noodles was alright, chewy and not sticking together but missing the wok-hei. A good plate of pad thai should have a balance of sweet, sticky and savoury with some tangy hints 》$5

Kani Tama Ramen Tldr - order the classic crab-broth ramen instead to avoid disappointment. Unsatisfying. This “fusion” between crab-broth ramen and Singaporean-style fried omelet did not gel well. The flavour was flat and the omelet became overly soggy.

Rich Crab Broth Ramen Chanced upon this restaurant when the queue for the restaurant we wanted to try was ridiculously long and quite enjoyed this! The portions are generous with this huge bowl of Spicy Crab Broth Ramen with Flavoured Egg, which comes with a hanjuku egg, a few slices of char siew, the spicy chili paste, and I added a giant piece of seaweed. The first thing I tried was the broth and boy was it rich! I could really taste the crab in the broth but it surprisingly didn’t have that seafood undertone, it was just rich crab broth. We were also served some sides to snack on while waiting and I really liked the bean sprouts, which we got seconds of. Overall, this meal is on the heavier side as the rich broth can be quite filling as well as all that ramen but I’m glad we got to try this restaurant because a crab broth ramen is quite unique and not something I’ve tried before.

Heard very good review about Piao Xiang Mala at 313 Somerset food republic, so decided to try it. I like that some ingredient like Luncheon meat being fry before mix with mala sauce. Mala Fragrant Pot Perfect dish for a cold weather. I love how some ingredients were fried before stir frying with the mala. It is one of the best, if not the best, mala fragrant pot I had. It is on a more pricey end for a foodcourt but totally worth the bucks. Expected Damage: $20-$30/2 pax

Vongole Ppong | $20.90++ Mild spicy. Cooked with briny clams, white wine and fragrant garlic, this will have you dreaming of the seaside. Back then when I ate, it was very good however I think they have changed their noodles as it’s a bit starchy now. However the broth was flavourful and seafood portion was generous.

Beef Cha-ppong Beef Cha-ppong from @nipongnaepongsg is always so comforting and I especially like how there's a beef option for when I don't feel like eating seafood plus you get to choose the spicy level too! 😋
