poulet + brasserie got 2x of the 3 course feast! what we got: - half chicken with mushroom cream sauce (8/10) - half chicken with cranberry sauce (7/10) - pan-seared sea bass (7/10) - prawn aglio olio (8/10) - mushroom soup (8.5/10) - truffle fries (8/10) - beef meatball (8/10) - brussel sprouts (8/10) - pineapple panna cotta (9/10) - mango pudding (7.5/10) the customer service was great… when we mentioned to them that the truffle fries came out room temperature, they replaced it with a new batch of piping hot truffle fries 🥲

Grilled Sea Bass ($19.90+) Sides were the star of the show here - mushrooms were great and the mashed potato is amazing as usual, I always order this when I'm at any Poulet. Seabass was just okay, skin was limp and flesh was tough - the only saving grace was the accompanying cream sauce

Butter Chicken ($28) Quite a unique combi and while the butter chicken couldn't replicate the creamy goodness of the authentic ones, it still passed muster. Loved the addition of the pickled onions as well, giving every bite a nice crunch and a slight tang.

Plant Square ($26) A medley of colourful veges adorned over a beautiful tomato sauce atop a delicious sourdough base. Think semi-dried tomatoes, huge black olives, slices of grilled eggplant and zucchini, slivers of mushrooms and bell peppers and artichokes. Lovely variety and all coming together so well. The accompanying chilli oil was pure goodness as well - drizzle it onto your pizza and also the crust for an added oomph.

Avocado & Coppa pizza We ordered two pizza - one red and one white: 1. Avocado & Coppa pizza I loved the crust and bread base of the pizza. I don’t really taste any avocado but I also enjoyed this pizza very much. The portion is quite huge. I think 2 pizzas can feed 3-4 ppl. I think the pizzas are of good quality and would come again. We also tried the Honey&lemon with soda homemade spritz. It tastes a little like kombucha.

Yummy pork cuts Unusual in that most meats are pork and not beef. Excellent BBQ , although other dishes are good too. Outstanding service. Tables are a bit small for parties of 6.

Busan style gukbab ($21++) I managed to get a queue number online first so didn had to wait too long. The gukbap comes with different slices of pork and pig stomach. The soup tasted abit like bak kut teh to me. The pig stomach was clean very well and didn have any gamey taste. The pork were tender too. It may look fatty but doesnt taste that way. Their kimchi was very authentic too. Overall, it was a bit bland for me. Perhaps would try the dinner menu next time.

Pork soup Took awhile to try this popular pork broth for fear of the queues but thankful for the online queue system (opens at 10am) and my fast fingers that secured queue ticket 1. They also release reservations in batches but have never been able to obtain them. While on the pricier side, this was worth the hype and transported us to Korea with the authentic and hearty Daejigukbab - pork & rice soups. The bowls featured a generous and delicious assortment of pork cuts such as aged pork collar, boiled pork, and pig stomach. We enjoyed both broths equally. Busan style was a richer clear broth with more complex depth of pork flavour. Milyang style was thicker with a creamier finish from the long boiling of pork bones. Scallop w/ Uni $18 The cramped and cosy 13-seater interior reminded me of neighbourhood sake bars in Tokyo, but the less than ideal air conditioning and heat from the kitchen certainly didn't make for comfortable dining. Luckily the carafes of cold sake went someway in providing relief from the warmth. Food here is tasty in general but otherwise very average. We enjoyed the scallops and asparagus bathed in a seafood-y cream sauce, as well as the cheap $3 otoshis(compulsory appetisers) of potato salad, liver pate, bread and baby anchovies. I would feel more inclined to return if the air conditioning situation was improved. Taste: 3.5/5

This needs no introduction. Lunch Bara-Chirashi at @bistrodulepin is perhaps the highlight of any weekday soirée on Orchard Road. At $14 a bowl, I am hard pressed to find a similar quality, hearty meal than this one; comes with a miso prawn soup.

Gotta exclaim that the 9-course Omakase dinner here was a real good value and quality for the $70. Situated in old Orchard Plaza, this is just a small establishment with confined space, giving one the same feel like that in Japan itself. Not as obvious from its name, it is actually Japanese fused with French influences. And the result was a Japanese dining experience with surprises in taste. That explained why the meal started with appetisers with cream cheese, liver pâté and burrata cheese. On top of the more typical but fresh items like Hiroshima oyster and Anago sushi, we were intrigued by their other items done very differently. Their sashimi was served with an interesting miso-peanut butter like sauce which gave it an awesome flavour, we’ll-complemented with crispy garlic chips and wasabi. The fried tuna was served with a tartar-like toppjng that went well with the deep-fried tuna. The meal was no lacking in premium ingredients, with black cod, king crab, Kagoshima beef and Uni. The black cod was well-executed and flavoured with a plum-pesto sauce, special and delicious. The king crabs were done tempura style and served with also an unique orange ginger sauce. Biting into those well-marbled juicy beef was just heavenly. And the meal definitely ended on a high note with the yummy angel hair pasta topped with Uni and generous portion of Ikura. By the end of the meal, we felt absolutely satisfied, with the good deal, quantity and quality of the food. We would recommend to add on a sake or wine to make the experience an even better one. Due to its space and popularity, early reservation will be a necessity to avoid any disappointment.

Meatballs in Tomato Sauce Mad love for their Meatballs in Tomato Sauce ($12.50) which features homemade Italian pork meatballs 🐖 in tomato sauce 🍅! Enjoyed the tender & moist meatballs in a very appetising tangy-sweet tomato sauce.

Burrata Feast on beautifully crafted sides dishes as well! 😍 I love their Burrata ($18.50) 🤍 - very milky & creamy! Paired with tangy vineyard tomatoes, this made the perfect starter!

French cuisine in Singapore This is for the date night or date lunch that you have been waiting for. We celebrated our colleague's birthday and opted for the set lunch at $34++ per person, which includes these three items: 1. Starter - Burrata Di Puglia 2. Main - Steak Frites - Striploin 250g (with a $6 top-up) 3. Dessert of the day OR coffee//tea In my personal opinion, the top-up for the steak frites might not be necessary, as it didn't stand out compared to other options like pasta or sea bass. However, if you're a cheese lover, do not miss their Truffle & Honey Baked Half Camembert. It's a sharing portion that combines the richness of cheese with the exquisite truffle flavor and a hint of sweetness. For those who appreciate bone marrow, this place serves one of the best I've ever tried. Their roasted bone marrow is generously portioned and practically melts in your mouth. Dessert of the Day These mini choux puffs were fluffy and paired with a velvety smooth vanilla ice cream, it sure hit the sweet spot to end a delectable meal.

Beef Ragu Pasta / Pan Seared Sea Bass (Luncb Set Mains) Hearty-ly delicious! The pappardelle pasta was perfectly al dente and each strand was slathered with savoury meaty sauce. Not only was the pasta dish packed with a depth of flavour, it was filled with generous amount of tender and juicy shredded beef meat. The sea bass was beautifully executed as well as it was pan seared to a nice crisp skin. The flesh was firm, succulent and flaky with a mild delicate flavour and subtle sweetness to it. Placed on a bed of creamy spinach, the richness was a nice accompaniment with the fish.

Soy Sauce Chicken Noodle Hmm. I'm not impressed. This place feels like one of those glorified hawker food. The meat (albeit breast) was okay, but not awesome. The noodles and the soup were mediocre. The star though was the chilli. It has lard, which enhances the fragrance of chilli even more.

Japanese buffet Good quality food items, served with small portions, yet delightful. Works well for a buffet, which allows us to try out many different dishes. Check out this complimentary mentaiko scallop. Super good!

Thick-cut Sashimi & Good Service ($56.90++ per pax) Highlights: Thick-cut Sashimi, Mentaiko Scallop, Wagyu Beef Salmon sashimi was good! I didn't enjoy the yellowtail sashimi though. Other cooked items are quite ordinary. If you need veg, go for the okonomiyaki! Cabbage seems healthier than the ingredients in their salad - (iceberg?) lettuce, corn, cherry tomato, cucumber. The buffet comes with free ice cream :) Some hit and miss items, but overall I recommend this place! Allergen: Chawanmushi has prawn

Amazing Japanese Buffet My favourite Japanese buffet as they serve quality food. Sashimi is thick and fresh, and decent selection. Love their teapot soup and Ikura chawanmushi as well. Fast and efficient service, and they didn’t miss out any food that we ordered. Would definitely come back!! Cost: $51.90 per pax

Braised Pork Rice Set | $8.50 A set that comes with braised pork rice, flavoured egg, and braised cabbage. The braised pork was fatty, which gave a nice soft melt in your mouth texture with every bite. Very nice braised flavour, and unfortunately for me it was way too fatty to my liking. I enjoyed the flavoured egg, but the braised cabbage was so soft and good! Overall, worth it for the price, though it would definitely suit people who prefer fattier pork in their luroufan! authentic taiwan bowls! we got the signature 3 bowls - oyster mee sua, sesame oil chicken rice and lu rou fan, along with brown sugar bubble fresh milk included in the set (19.9)! my favourite was the sesame oil chicken, as the rice was well flavoured and oily enough HAHA tasted like shallots and the chicken was very flavourful!! the other two were normal, tasted authentic

Yummy authentic Taiwanese food The rice bowls came in mini size but they are quite filling. The braised pork rice is yummy and we ordered the egg that goes very well with the rice. I usually don’t eat oyster or intestine but I was happily gobbling down the oyster and intestine with my mee sua. The tofu with century egg is yummy too - cold tofu with pork floss topping makes it even tastier. My only grievance is the Taiwanese sausage that costs $4.20 (a bit pricey for a few slices!). Love the decor and ambience here.
