A little sad that this was going to be the last week that Tenryu will be around, before they officially close for good. So I satisfied my japanese cravings by having the tori katsu bowl and mentai tamagoyaki delivered and it was still so so satisfying good.

Bagels hold a special place in my heart. I kinda had bagel sandwiches (homemade) ALMOST everyday during my 3-months clerkship back in the USA. This was quite yummy, I love the generous combination of the rosemary bagel, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and hollandaise sauce. Did I mention that the bagel was surprisingly soft (not tough and chewy like many others!) as well? The bagel sandwich was quite huge, that I could only stomach half of it for lunch! I'll definitely be back for more.

The toppings especially the pineapple and avocado added a really refreshing touch to this bowl. However, the tuna did not taste fresh at all and the shoyu seasoning was too salty for my taste.

Alakai is still my favourite place to get a good bowl of Poke! I really like how the fish were fresh and that they were freshly seasoned and marinated only when an order was put in!

Honestly, I haven't had a prata in ages (maybe 2 years or so). So long as the prata is crisp and less oily, it's always a good prata (to me). So thankfully, the mushroom prata I had at this neighbourhood Indian muslim place near home was both (crisp and less oily).

The red miso sauce was a tad salty and the omurice was done alright (but nothing fantastic to scream about!). Had to share the pork cutlets with the dining partners as the nagoya-style red miso sauce came with the pork katsu (they didn't have the option to go without!).

Here's my (one huge beautiful brown) crisp and fluffy belgian waffle weekend kitchen experiment! Whipped egg white to soft peaks and substituted the buttermilk for that tub of @tamarvalleydairy blueberry and strawberry greek-style yoghurt that's lying in the refrigerator. Honestly, I can't wait to go back to my 'kitchen experiments' after I'm done with school.

Finally gotten down to trying the popular tow kwar pop (aka the Singapore-style salad) for lunch. This was such a delight to eat with those crispy hand-grilled stuffed tau pok, crispy warm fish crackers and a mix of fresh fruits (apples, shredded papaya and thinly sliced turnip)! I will definitely be back for more.

Haven't been to Ootoya for ages (years) and they have changed their menu! Love their homestyle japanese meals. This cod fish soup was warm and comforting on a rainy evening. The cod fish chunks were generous, tasted fresh and tender (I'm not a fan of frozen cod so this tasted really good!). The mixed seasonal vegetables were sweet and
delicious!

A rare weekday lunch date with a lovely friend of mine (especially when we are working in such close proximity)! And this YTF was a really good recommendation (thanks friend!), I had it with the specialty bean sauce and it was *delish* (and that mushroom yam slice was yums!).

A really good well-balanced comfort cup of caffeine. So glad that we can now choose the beans for the coffee! Beans were from Ethiopia, Burundi and Kenya (tasting notes were: strawberries, dried prune and brown sugar).

One of my favourite places for waffles (crisp on the outside and soft on the inside) before I get myself a waffle maker (to experiment with). Unfortunately, they did not have the rock melon sorbet so we replaced it with the honey lavender ice-cream. Still perfect for the warm Sunday afternoon.
