๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท JAJANGMYEON ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท
The amount of positive reviews of their ๐‰๐š๐ฃ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ž๐จ๐ง ($๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘) brought me hereโ€ฆ

The original portion was so large that you should come here with a big appetite ๐Ÿ˜€ The fermented black bean sauce was smooth and sweet, with some diced pork and a lot of onions in it.

Sadly, I didnโ€™t think I enjoyed it that much, especially when some claimed it to be one of the best in Singapore. The sauce was good, but the noodle was too mushy for my liking ๐Ÿ™

I think I need to try a few more jjajangmyeon for comparison! ๐Ÿ˜™

P.S.: Thereโ€™s no reservation, so do come early (~5pm), if not the waiting list is super long even on a weekday evening ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

Came across this dessert stall when I was in Funan Mall and it was the best day ever. The cafe was empty and they sold Acai Pearls ๐Ÿ˜ They have a variety of menu, from yogurt bowl, yogurt drink and acai bowl. I decided to try the Purple Rice Yogurt with Acai Pearls add-on and it was so goood!!

Received this swiss roll as part of Bread Talkโ€™s anniversary set (Only $5 until end of October). It tasted so much nicer whwn you put it in the freezer, because it felt like eating ice cream cake.

Found another good churros in town! If youre looking for a dessert thatโ€™s great for sharing and not too heavy, get this churros. The churros itself was fragrant and flavourful and the chocolate dip was nice too. I wonโ€™t recommend getting the lava cake because it was overly sweet :/

The grilled squid was well-seasoned and not overly tough to chew. For $29, it came in a big portion for sharing :)

As weโ€™re in the mood for celebrating Singaporeโ€™s 55th birthday, donโ€™t miss out on @butterknifefolkโ€™s limited-time National Day gelato flavours u guys!

They have more than 20 interesting flavours, such as chicken rice, rojak, laksa, muah chee, chendol, ondeh ondeh, orh nee and even chilli crab ๐Ÿฆ€! Itโ€™s very hard to choose just one flavour, so you can go for the ๐Œ๐ข๐ง๐ข ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐ž ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐จ ($5/ set), which let you taste three flavours in one go ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

I tried:
* ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ž๐ง ๐‘๐ข๐œ๐ž
* ๐“๐ž๐ก ๐“๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ค

The sweet flavours are tbh pretty safe and enjoyable, but I find the chicken rice flavour too overwhelming ๐Ÿ˜…, though I must say I was really impressed at how similar its taste was to a real chicken rice ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป and Iโ€™m no longer curious now.

I particularly find the ๐“๐š๐ฎ ๐‡๐ฎ๐š๐ฒ ๐™๐ฎ๐ข one very nice if uโ€™re looking for a savoury flavour! ๐Ÿ˜

The first long queue that I spotted at Zion Road FC was in front of Boon Tong Kee Kway Chap Braised Duck stall. Iโ€™m not a big fan of kway chap so I ordered their ๐๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐ƒ๐ฎ๐œ๐ค ๐‘๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐’๐ž๐ญ ๐Œ๐ž๐š๐ฅ, which consisted of braised duck rice with preserved vegetables, tau kwa and braised hard boil egg.
.
.
The presentation was really appealing, but I was quite disappointed with the taste. It was just overwhelmingly salty, from the rice, meat, preserved veggies, and soup.
.
.
If the rice were to be less salty, and the preserved vegetables more tangy, I think Iโ€™d have enjoyed the dish better ๐Ÿ™‚ The chilli was nice btw!

Ordered the ๐ƒ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐ซ๐š๐ฐ๐ง ๐๐จ๐จ๐๐ฅ๐ž for $8. It was quite pricey for a hawker food, but trust me, itโ€™s really worth the price and the queueing time (it took me ~30 mins).

The broth was incredibly rich, tasty and comforting with a tinge of sweetness. As itโ€™s my first experience eating prawn noodle, I was also surprised to find fall-off-the-bone pork ribs in my soup below the two fresh giant prawns. It was really delicious, and I didnโ€™t hesitate to drink more of the rich yet light broth.

The noodle was the thick yellow vermicelli type that was cooked al dente. Initially thought that the noodle would be bland, but it was addictively yummy and served with fragrant fried shallots. The soup and the noodle really made a souper match! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Itโ€™s amazing that the stall was run by just one uncle, who, despite having to prepare for the seemingly unending orders, still greeted each of the customers amicably. His friendliness made me forget the tiredness from standing in the queue for so long โ˜บ๏ธ

Would recommend you to try this prawn noodle if you havenโ€™t already!

Finally tried the famous Ah Tan Wings @ahtanwings without having to travel so far to Yishun!

I had the ๐€๐ญ๐š๐ฌ ๐–๐ข๐ง๐  ๐Œ๐ž๐š๐ฅ ($5.20), which came with an aromatic rice (like nasi lemak) with four pieces (two drumlets and two wings) of har cheong gai, and a sunny side-up egg. It was such a satisfying and affordable meal with crispy, fragrant and juicy chicken wings! ๐Ÿ˜‹

Fyi ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ The stall at Timbre+ closes quite early at 8pm ๐Ÿ‘ˆ๐Ÿผ

๐ŸŒˆ ๐‘๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ญ๐ญ๐š ๐‡๐จ๐ญ๐œ๐š๐ค๐ž๐ฌ ($24++) โ€” (Ricotta cheese, Hokkaido milk, fresh mixed berries, cardamom maple syrup, Kapiti vanilla bean ice cream)โ€จThis is the 4th hotcakes that Iโ€™ve ever had and it has the best texture. While all the other hotcakes I tried were thick and soft, they were too dense and dry. So this hotcakes surpasses them with its light and slightly moist texture. I can also tell that the vanilla ice cream is of high quality. Itโ€™s really tasty!

๐ŸŒ ๐†๐จ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐๐š๐ง๐š๐ง๐š๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ ($8++) โ€” Very moist and pleasant banana cake thatโ€™s not overly sweet. It is complemented by fresh berries and crunchy chocolate feuilletine that has notes of dark chocolate roast. Get this one too!

They are super good!!! The Cheese cake has a crinkly top, while the Earl Grey cake top is flatter and smoother. We savour every slice of the cake as it has a smooth texture and is mildly sweet. More pictures of the individual cake are coming up in the next few posts ๐Ÿ˜‹
