Chrysanthemums Wolfberry This small gelato shop hide in this quiet neighbourhood at Boon Keng, a short walk from MRT station. Offers different flavours of gelato to choose from. If you are a Burpple Beyond subscriber then you would entitled to one for one deal here.

Roasted pistachio Their pistachio gelato was nutty but didn’t particularly stand out to me. I felt like the flavour was pretty one dimensional (not sure whether roasted was supposed to be a feature) and i got bored of it half way in. The location is also pretty inaccessible unless you’re driving. We walked almost 2km from Potong Pasir to get here

Do Not recommend Gila Basil seafood & Chicken Rice - Charges 25$ against the offer mentioned in Burple as 1-for-1 17$. When checked, they said the price has been updated but we cannot see the price updated in burple. 25$ seems to be a lot for 1 plate and they don’t have this item in their menu at all when I wanted to cross check the actual rate.

Do not recommend chicken chops Service was good. Unfortunately the dishes were disappointing. Chilli crab sauce was way too salty. BBQ sauce tasted like the mcdonalds bbq sauce. Fries weren't special either. Not worth even with Burpple

Banoffee Pecan, Triple Chocolate Shortbread Ice-cream Sandwiches ($9.80 U.P.; on Burpplebeyond) Will this be a weekend hobby? #3 I made the following Burpplebeyond redemption this week: Amuse ice cream sandwich shortbread, the banoffee pecan flavor and triple chocolate flavors. The ice creams here are a treat and good for they are non-icy and smooth, sadly I felt the chocolate shortbread on chocolate ice cream a slight chocolate overdose after awhile. That said you’d find me revisiting to try the brownies and other ice cream flavors when around the area, enabled by burpple.

1-for-1 Ice Cream Shortbread Love me a sweet Burpple deal to close off the night and this was a nice one! Got the Chocolate Cookies & Dough and Darkest Chocolate Nib – my friend and I enjoyed both of them equally as we’re both huge chocolate lovers. Though the hurdle with these desserts is that you have to wait for it to thaw a bit to be able to pierce through the shortbread. Nonetheless a value deal!

For 1-for-1 Ice Cream Parfait (save ~$20) Amuse Dessert Co guarantees thoughtfully created and aesthetically-pleasing desserts! Just take a look at their Ice Cream Parfait ($20) which comes with a triple scoop of ice cream paired with macaroon, meringue, and tuile. Doesn't that look appealing?

Lemon & Lime A small ice cream shop located all the way in to the back of Far East Square at the basement. Come for their baby scoop especially if you have Burpple Beyond to enjoy 1 for 1 deal now. For something refreshing, definitely worth getting their lemon & lime.

Waffles ice cream No brownie/cookie left so we ordered 2 waffles ice cream. Waffles q huge & good but ice cream was q small. Hope to try the brownie/cookie next time!

Smoochies for dessert We go the pasty with baby scoop deal I love the croffle and they are specially made on order. Love the different ice cream flavours and the cookies and cream goes well with the croffle. Also love they give water and tissues! (Essential for ice cream)

Single scoop ($4.90, +$1.30 for premium) Ju Pu: Chrysanthemum and Pu Erh was a really nice combination - not too sweet, yet fragrant - and apparently a healthier option. I liked the creamy sticky texture of the ice cream even though it was slightly melted when served to us. Guava with Sour Prune Sorbet: Sweet, sour and refreshing - perfect for a hot day. I like trying interesting flavours, so this was a nice change. Overall - ice cream was great, but it’s really pricey because there’s GST and service charge on top of it all. And there were also 2 dead cockroaches at the sides of the shop which were a lil off putting. I may come back if I’m around the area but only if I’m planning to use the Burpple Beyond deal.

1 For 1 Udon! Beef Udon 10/10 + an appetizer (Tori Karaage) 7/10 The 1 for 1 Udon only allows us to claim for: Kitsune Udon, Beef Udon or Cha Soba. My friend and I both got the beef udon and it was a good choice. The beef is very sweet and they give a lot of beef and onions. It's pretty worth the price, considering the location. I like the soup too, it's very savoury 👍 Would recommend 10/10 The tori karaage is $6+, came in 4 pieces, medium sized. It was a bit oily but still the batter was still crispy. Comes with mayo and an unknown thick dark sauce. It goes well with the chicken. 7/10 for the price.

Lunch Interesting find inside the university, within walking distance from the MRT station. Offering affordable Japanese cuisine. Aburi Cheese Gyudon (S$12.40+) Tender slices of beef and onion over pipping hot rice, topped with shredded cheese which was torched before serving. Very filling one dish meal. Tamago Miso Soup (S$1.50+) Miso soup with cubes of tofu, seaweed and a flower egg in it. Sakura Sparkling Lychee (S$4.00+) Quite refreshing drink. Rainbow Roll (S$16.90+) - seasonal item Sushi roll topped with prawn, salmon, tuna, and shrimp roe, stuffed with tamago, kani, cucumber and Unagi. For 1-for-1 Makimono (Takeaway) (save ~$2.40) Ima-Sushi began with a strong desire to bring affordable sushi to the masses, and that they did! Diners can get a taste of their fresh fish offerings from dishes such as the flame-torched Aburi Salmon Mentai Roll ($12.90). With Burpple Beyond, you can also get 1-for-1 deals on their appetisers, drinks, udon, and Makimono.

Haw Ah ($4.50++) Cooked hawthorn berries are mixed into the gelato and then topped with a scattering of haw flake . I got a double whammy of the Chinese hawthorn fruit’s sweet-sour flavours in this frozen treat.

Lemon Puff Located at this quiet neighbourhood of Pek Kio, you would find this small ice cream shop that still opens at night. Serving artisan handcrafted gelato made in-house. I like they would explain what are the taste you could expect from each flavours. For the lemon puff, you would get the tangy taste as you eat it. Haw Ah (Hawthorn Flakes) Gelato + Belgian Waffles Haw Ah (Hawthorn Flakes) Gelato + Belgian Waffles ($10.50) I just crave for food without reason but really like their airy and soft Waffles texture. I don't really like haw ah taste as I imagined. It's taste so weird after putting milk infused with haw ah ? But they just add haw Ah bits with ice cream.

Lamb Shank so much goodness packed into 1 plate. the meat slid off the bone effortlessly and was super succulent. mixed with its special spice and herbs sauce which was so unique and delectable. the blue pea rice was also very tasty and fragrant. finished the last bite wanting for more

Homemade Crab Cakes, 19 Packed full of juicy crabmeat. A must try

Satay Chicken Taco, 14 Interesting combination of well marinated chunky satay chicken cubes served on a papadom. Love the flavour and contrast in textures!

Closed at 620pm Burpple states that it's open till 8pm but it was already closed around 6pm

Disappointing They no longer sell bagels but the burpple still says they do; travelled all the way down and was disappointed. Do take note if you plan to head down, they only do the box of six now.

Truffle Beef Bagel ($15.90) We got their truffle beef bagel ($12.90+$3) at the Burpple Food Street on Saturday! Lunch crowd had just rolled in and the wait for 2 bagels was more than 30 min 😓. We were also surprised by the size as it was much smaller compared to the ones given to our friend who had ordered earlier 🤷🏻‍♀️. The beef was cooked well, tender but bordering on chewy. Would give a pass on the truffle the next time as it wasn’t prominent (probably just truffle oil) and not worth the additional $3.

9 course Omakase Visited Jidai recently for their 1-for-1 9 course omakase. Staff were very kind and seated us even though we were late and came close to closing. Food was good, fresh with exciting flavours, we left super full and satiated. Topped up for their duck and foie gras main - highly recommended. Would definitely be back to try their other offerings!

OMAKASE! Our previous experience at @jidai_restaurant was amazing and we always JIDAI (sorry bad pun) for a chance to revisit.
