Went to try out the NDP promo at Swensen’s, giving 1-for-1 Hazel Daze / Salted GulaMelaka Heaven, which amounted to about $13.89 for both.

The Hazel Daze came with crunchy wafer cubes, hot fudge and melted marshmallows. Flavors of the ice cream were mocha almond fudge and hazelnut, hence there was a nice coffee taste to it.

The salted gula melaka on the other hand was less sweet compared to Hazel Daze. I would say the taste of the ice cream was also milder. But I really like how it was accompanied with the crispy chocolate balls and rice puffs.

Overall both sundaes were delicious! Staff were also friendly and accommodating. Enjoy the NDP promo till end of Sept 2020!

Ooh I love daily cut’s food! Always looking forward and always having the dilemma on which ingredient to choose because they are so good!

Today’s regular bowl ($12) combination is quinoa, sweet potato mash, teriyaki chicken thigh, asparagus, onsen egg, miso tofu, walnuts and pesto sauce.

Pesto sauce is my all time favourite, pairs well with quinoa and sweet potato mash! Haven’t been here since the circuit breaker and the teriyaki chicken definitely tastes better than before! Purple sweet potato mash used to taste better though, now they use yellow sweet potato. Personally I didn’t quite like the miso tofu, couldn’t taste the miso-ness to it. Not ordered this round, but definitely do try the mushrooms!

Tender chicken breast cubes with shredded carrots, cucumber chunks, brown rice and chilli. Nothing much to shout about on taste but if you are looking for a healthy, not heavily seasoned kind of food, this would be your go to.

Used to taste better, brown rice was also slightly softer and had a nicer infused taste to it. Would do better with some ginger sauce in my opinion.

Healthier version of nasi lemak but not compromising on the taste. Replacing the rice with quinoa, peanuts with almonds, fried egg with onsen egg etc. The quinoa has a nice coconut taste to it, and the chicken is tender yet flavorful with spices. Almonds are super crunchy. Each element in this dish complements each other very well. Chilli is slightly spicy for me but gives a very nice spicy kick to it. I like breaking the yolk into the quinoa and mixing it all in. Portion wise is just nice!

Such tender and nicely torched wagyu beef don topped with pickles, onsen egg, tobiko, and Wagyu beef bone sauce. Beef melts in the mouth with a nice torched taste to it. Portion of rice is just right. Wasn’t expecting much initially but I was surprised and this is super satisfying. Worth the splurge!

Generous portion of salmon pieces on the don. Brace yourself by breaking the yolk and do a nice mix and you’ll end up with a super delicious don! Rice ratio was also just nice. Worth the splurge once in awhile!

The aroma of the truffle fully coats almost every piece of fries! Love the generous portion of parmesan cheese but would have preferred if it was layered in between the fries than on top (wasted some as they dropped on the table :( ). Overall this is really good!

Tried this from the Taiwanese stall in Foodclique. Loved it! The taste of the vinegar, with a hint of spiciness from the chili oil complemented very well! Noodles are done well with a springy texture. And I really like the shredded carrots and cucumber which gives it a refreshing taste amid the strong flavor. Beef is also good and generous! The ingredients just complemented each other very well. Definitely one of my favorite!

Had this from the Chinese food stall in Fine Food. The pancake was very crispy. Used to be soft with crispy edges which I preferred. But this crispiness, when dipped in soup for a quick while, actually taste pretty good!

For $5.90, this shaved ice from Like Pudding was really good and value for money. Photos can be deceiving but this is actually a huge portion and the ice was packed compactly! It can easily be shared between 2-3 people. The matcha shaved ice was thick and creamy, with a strong matcha taste. The red bean complemented the shaved ice well and sweetness was just about right.

Highly recommended if you’re around the area!

I love scallion pancakes and this was crispy and fluffy. There was however too much sauce in its Liang’s Chicken Sandwich which overpowered the taste and made the whole thing salty. Also it was difficult to eat without everything falling apart. Portion was filling.

Burger patties were really juicy and delicious! I love the combination of The ShackBurger (double up $12.70), and preferred that over the Smoke Shack (double up $14.40)as the flavor combination was much better. Size up to double patty, it’s worth it! I personally think for such quality, it is rather worth its affordable price tag.

Milkshakes ($6.90) were thick and creamy but overly sweet for our palates. We ordered a coffee milkshake and vanilla milkshake. The coffee one tasted great initially with a strong coffee aroma but halfway through, we just thought it was too sweet and would have been better if shared with another person or two. Vanilla milkshake was a big no for us, it didn’t have a fragrant vanilla flavor to it imo.

Really liked the cheese fries ($5.90). Though it would have been better if the cheese was spreaded a bit more evenly. Add a bit of black pepper to enhance its flavor!

It was a short queue on a weekday at 9.45am and once they’ve opened at 10am, we were at the ordering counters within 10 minutes and were served shortly after that. Overall, a pleasant experience and I’m definitely coming back for the burgers!
