We were quite delighted to find this cafe at a corner of Little India after our unexpected cultural walk when we found our intended eating place to be closed. Steep is a small and simple cafe which provided us just enough respite from the hot afternoon sun.

French Toast looked better than it tasted, nevertheless it still provided a pretty good brunch. Personally, I felt that the bread could have had more egg flavour and would have been quite tasteless if not for the mascarpone, berry compote and the unique honey thyme syrup.

Crunchy tacos with crispy halibut chunks sandwiched in between, with chipotle mayonnaise topped with fresh mango salsa, served with a salad and curly fries. I dare say that this is one of the best dishes on the menu! I really like how the mango salsa adds brightness to the dish by bringing a little zest to the dish. The curly fries are also really really yummy.

Love that Coffee Academics is on Burpple Beyond because it makes every dish so worth it.

Loving the play of words - this chicken rice bowl is 446 calories according to Kiposā€™ website. Brown ā€œchickenā€ rice, sou vide chicken, carrots, cucumber with home made chicken rice chilli. I was really full after the meal and pleasantly surprised at the chicken rice taste it had - definitely sufficient to fulfil any chicken rice cravings without sacrificing your calories.

At 2 bowls at $8 with Burpple Beyond - mega worth!!

Iā€™m not very sure why but this iced latte was surprisingly very good! It could have been the post morning spin-class, short of sleep vibes that I was dealing withā€¦ 30% off with Burpple and further discount if you bring your own cup.

Finally featuring Tea Party šŸŽ‰ Iā€™ve come to understand why students like it - itā€™s super affordable and yummy in a comforting way. The Seafood Marinara has somewhat become my go to order - the pasta is always served al dente, piping hot in a tasty tomato sauce and the ingredients are pretty generous too! The staff here are always friendly and the aunty has a knack for remembering the special orders of her regulars.

So happy that Iā€™ve finally found a chicken rice that I would crave for! Iā€™m not one to eat chicken rice usually as I dislike the heavy, oily feeling the meal usually leaves me, but not this one! This one feels ā€œhealthierā€.

For me, I judge my chicken rice by the rice and the condiments - this one definitely gets ticks for both. The rice is fragrant and fluffy, with each individual rice grain separated but not too oily. The condiments really complete the dish - the chilli is equal parts garlicky + tangy and I like how the ginger is freshly grated, topped off with spring onions, instead of being doused in oil.

The Social Kitchen is truly a hidden gem at Orchard/Dhoby Ghaut. Nestled on the 4th floor of the YMCA building, TSK is a social enterprise that partners with community organisations to operate their kitchen and cafe to optimally benefit the disadvantaged. I chanced upon them while scrolling through Grab, where their 1-1 offer on their vegetarian series caught my eye.

The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente with an addictive tomato based sauce on the sweeter side. Not quite sure how I feel about the ā€œNoMeatballsā€ as it is my first time trying them. I was served by a really sweet waitress and her friendly supervisor who quickly whipped up another portion of pasta when they realised they had gotten my order wrong ā˜ŗļø.

So glad to add one more place to my list of coffees at City Hall! Probably one of the best iced whites Iā€™ve had. Opened by Glyph Supply Co., Dough seems like a lovely place for catch ups with its combination of clean lines, natural sunlight filtering through walled glass and aesthetic countertops. The dine in queue was long on a weekend but I was planning to takeaway anyway.

Can we have more rice please??šŸ¤¤

Also known as ā€œMexican Chicken Riceā€, Arroz Con Polo is Mexican spiced rice with grilled chicken topped off with paquillo peppers and crisped up capers. Love, love loved the rice!! It had more of a risotto texture but it was so comforting and yummy we finished it before the chicken. The portion was huge too, makes for a hearty dish that can be shared.

The meal was made even lovelier with Burpple 1 for 1. #HappyBurpday

Creamier will always have my heart because it won my waffles & ice cream hunt 5 years back as a secondary school student, this was when Creamier was still a little cosy nook in the heart of TPY! Creamier keeps things fun with new flavours - when I heard about their collaboration flavour with @bakerybrera, a really awesome down to earth bakery, I couldnā€™t wait to try it.

Green tea, lemon curd and surprise bits of mille feuille, the intensity of the lemon curd took us by surprise (in a lovely way) with a hint of matcha. This one is definitely for lemon curd lovers!

If youā€™re like me and canā€™t choose - what is an indecisive person to do when faced with so many yummy flavours - check out the Creamier fun five where you can choose five flavours in a cute waffle bowl at $5.80. We just went for a Creamier classics bowl at $5.50.

We recently went on our own tour of the farms around Kranji and stopped by Hay Dairies to feed and pet some goats. I really liked this chocolate goats milk! To my surprise, it wasnā€™t too ā€œgoatyā€ and it had a yummy mild chocolate taste. Apparently, the ā€œgoatyā€ smell only occurs if the buck goes near the doe during milking time.

It was definitely an interesting trip where we learnt a lot about Singaporeā€™s local agriculture supply.
