After hearing about The Alley for SO LONG, I finally gave in. On the MRT, I scrolled through the tagged section of their Instagram and was amazed by the eccentric range of drinks, from sparkly multi-coloured teas to brown sugar bobas. They have a new range of crunchy bubble teas that sounded very innovative and tempting, but as a first-timer, I went with the classic brown sugar series.
Upon hearing the name, I was intrigued to try a crème brĂťlĂŠe flavoured drink, and it was a risk worth taking because it tasted and looked like a dreammmmmm. Deerioca is their trademark method of cooking the bubbles in a âbrown sugar lavaâ for two hours leaving the boba with a warm and chewy texture and coated in a viscous brown sugar syrup. The tea tasted EXACTLY like a milky crème brĂťlĂŠe. Every bite of the bubbles and sip of the excessively sweet tea woke up every taste bud on my tongue, leaving me with a crazy sugar rush.
Towards the end, because of the hot-and-cold bubbles and ice, the milk started to solidify at the bottom, creating small lumps. I recommend finishing the drink within 20 minutes.
đ¸: $6.50, though I used a voucher, it is on the pricier end, not sure if I would usually spend this much on đ§.
â ď¸: The shops are pretty spread out around Singapore and have specific opening times. Check out there website for more details.

Memory/tip/highlight: My friend called it âdiabetes in a cupâ, and initially I rolled my eyes, but it definitely was just that.
Birds of Paradise, a boujie gelato boutique located in the East Coast, is a popular local favourite and always comes up in conversations about đŚ!
Today, during an afternoon drive, we shortlisted our flavours and decided to try it out!!! Knowing my luck, it started POURING, and by pouring, I mean it felt like someone was LITERALLY floating above my head and throwing buckets of water on me.
Lychee & Raspberry
Light pink, floral, and fruity! This flavour is really refreshing and tastes like summer! However, it took me a while to get the lychee flavour, but the traces raspberry was very strong.
Spiced Pear đ
What? Wow! Omg, this one was a clear winner. The strongest flavour of the three I tried. The fresh flavour of the fruit paired with the spice complimented each other perfectly. The tiny chunks of pear added a tiny crunch!
White Chrysanthemum
Not too sure what I was expecting when I ordered this BEST SELLER flavour, but I do not regret it AT ALL. Every bite tasted like I was eating a flower field, it was delicate and sweet. I loved the tiny cocoa nibs that remained crunchy even as the gelato melted towards the end.
Thyme Waffle Cone
The sprigs of thyme folded into the batter is one of the most unusual, but creative twists to waffle cones. I loved how it complimented every flavour and toned down the sweetness. The best part was that it remained crunchy!
Overall, I thought the flavours were really subtle. Which in some ways is good because the scoops are really generous and you can enjoy the mild flavour over a longer period of time.
The scoops were REALLY big, omg what, Iâm a slow ice cream/gelato eater so it took a while and started melting hahaha oops.
đą: I really appreciated that the spoon and cup were biodegradable. This sustainable touch made me feel better about settling for a cup!
đ¸: Single Cup = $5, Double Cone = $9
â ď¸: Located on East Coast road so itâs quite hard to access with a car. $$$ (but the scoops are quite big).

Oâ Coffee Club: Belgian Waffles
Coffee Club, an underrated cafeĚ hidden between all the bespoke clothing stores of the bustling Raffles Coty Mall. Coffee Clubâs colorful menu and bright, relaxed ambiance was inviting.
Belgian Waffles (~$6.90)
Despite eating a filling breakfast earlier this morning, the photo of the Waffles was practically BEGGING me to order it. Served with a side of butter and honey-maple syrup. It was warm, light, and slightly crunchy. The butter melted into the syrup and was a delectable treat.
Definitely worth the second breakfast! They offer the same dish topped with bacon and scrambled eggs.
The prices werenât crazy expensive that other brunch restaurants offer, and the food, coffee, and service was of high quality.

Highlight/memory: we donât eat waffles at home, so I seize every opportunity I get to eat waffles at restaurants. đđ
Raffles City #03-30
Pizza Con Rucola (~$26) - 4/5
OMG LOVED IT! Thin crust pizza, delicious tomato sauce, delicately spiced Parma Ham, and a garden bed of arugula! The balance was perfect and the pizza did justice to every flavour. Plus the arugula made me feel less guilty đ. The pizza was really big and I packed the left overs, it tasted EVEN BETTER after heating it up in the air fryer.
Pizza Burrata (~$28) - 4/5
I took a small bite of this pizza, but woahhhhhh it was SENSATIONAL! The Burrata was of an extremely high quality and melted on the pizza. A bit pricey, but worth the splurge?
Overall, AMAZING MAINS, average starters. When you come, just order the pizzas and dessert!

Last night I tried the Chicken Chimichanga at CafeĚ Iguana. This Mexican appetiser consists of a deep fried burrito stuffed with chicken, a variety of grilled vegetables on top of rice and served with a generous dollop of guac and sour cream.
The vegetables were perfect! They were soft, fresh, and delicious. With every bite, I could taste the love that they put into their food. I thought the guac and sour cream provided a refreshing touch to every bite. However, I didnât enjoy the chicken as much. Make sure you eat the food quickly, because once the burrito gets cold, it doesnât taste as good.
Served on a wooden platter, the ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant and had a sweeping view of the Singapore River and CQ. I am on the quest to find the best Mexican restaurant in Singapore, and this may be it!
This restaurant is a bit on the pricey end, but is perfect for celebrations.
