totally understand the hype now, the tempura are so good and makes the wait so worthwhile! but only for the first 15 mins or so, before the jerlat and oily feel kicks in, made worse with the soggy skin.
dinner idea last night, presenting the original bowl and seasonal special of yuzu salmon and assorted mushrooms.

sadly, as we were given counter seats that gave us a full view of the kitchen, it meant we could see that the fried food were placed right next to the raw chicken.

still, so far so good, no diarrhoea yet! haha.

random choice via the #entertainerapp and t’was really a surprise find. starting with the really nice xo sauce carrot cake with lup cheong, and ending with my favourite açai slush and a camera shy bf.

the carrot cake and 辣子鸡 was really good, but the claypot rice was a tad disappointing though. overwhelmed pepper taste and no wok-hei.:(

even when we did have the menu, there were still changes to it and we were simply just wowed and surprised how good they were.

starting with sourdough and fresh curd, fermented barley porridge, and the main highlight of the meal--the pomfret. the bf and I both agreed it'd go down much better with rice haha. the pomfret was fresh and sweet, and accompanying vegs were a real surprise as well. love the turnips, garlic sprouts and potatoes. nothing that you'd expect out of a cafe brunch!

the aburi salmon slices a little too thin, thus kinda overcooked, but the boyf likes it though. on the other hand i like my bowl of aburi spicy salmon. spicy salmon sashimi cubes with the smoky aroma works out to be really well.

the thick slices of sashimi were a real value for money, sadly they weren't served cold enough, and was real mushy. the sauce of the maki overpowers everything else, but was still delish.
but but... that small piece of tofu actually costs us $4.90!😱 measly bits of century egg, you can't even taste them at all.😒
