The full works - Assembly Ground style. There was an option between smoked salmon or smoked bacon and we went with salmon, obviously. This was a safe choice as everything was good, even the cherry tomatoes (which my partner usually dislikes). I on the other hand got Steak & Eggs ($25) pictured in the background. Thankfully we utilized the Beyond 1 for 1 because I would not have been too happy paying for that. The steak was cooked to medium and rather tough to chew on, sadly.

A relatively new cafe in the Chinatown hood. The interior and vibes of the place reminds me of Bali. Tried the food menu once and it was good - albeit the long waiting time (hope it gets better!). I’ve been back a few times to grab coffee and they’re always a hit, never a miss.

What an indulgent cup of coffee and matcha, the best combination. The blend was perfect - not too bitter, with a slight hint of sweetness. KYŌ can get very crowded during lunch time so be prepared to wait a little for your order.

My first visit to the highly raved Omote! I was surprised at how spacious the restaurant was, and how far the queue stretched. Their chirashi dressing is slightly sweet, thus the taste profile can get quite boring after awhile. Although their bowls are small, the serving is generous so a normal bowl is more than enough. The upsized order is pretty worth in value as the difference is only about a dollar.

The truffle was aromatic yet not too overpowering. I think I could eat this on its own but we ordered it to accompany our BBQ meats - which were amazing too.

Vegan ice cream that packs a punch of flavors. My order was the passionfruit sorbet with charcoal wholemeal cone (+$1). The sorbet was a tad too sour for my liking, it would be the perfect complementary flavor to a double scoop situation.

One of my comfort food comes in a bowl of spicy salmon poke topped with ikura. Every piece of salmon was generously coated with spicy sauce - leaving every bite a satisfactory one.
