From Hasu Confections at PoMo. The Mille Crepe here is actually pretty good considering how tightly packed each layer is to each other. Dusted in icing sugar, the Mille Crepe wasn't overpoweringly sweet but it does seem to lack hazelnut flavour overall despite being infused into the pastry cream. There is also an original flavour which features vanilla, which I guess should be pretty decent since this variant only felt like it was missing of the hazelnut overall. (PS: They also have this sharing portion which comes slightly short of double the price of the sliced version โ coming in a personal-sized full cake, it does seem to work as a smart option for a small birthday party gathering of four to share.)

When you're in the mood for an indulgent lunch (and don't we all need those once in a while!), the newly-opened Black Cow at South Beach should be at the top of your list.
This "Foie Gras Bifuteki" is one of their premium lunch specials and I feel it is truly worth the $45++ price tag as they only use premium quality ingredients imported from Japan.
So what you get in the bowl is Hokkaido rice, over which lies a slab of Japanese Wagyu Beef Steak that's grilled to perfection and sliced for ease of eating. Alongside are seared cubes of the juiciest glazed foie gras. Together with the onsen egg, they form a dish that'll have you rolling your eyes in ecstasy.
I am sure comparisons to a similar (and slightly more expensive) lunch set at Fat Cow is inevitable. And having had the one there, I will say Black Cow's is a little more generous in terms of portion size - which is a big plus in itself.
Just so you know, the lunch set includes a fresh salad, a bowl of miso soup, mixed pickles and a big scoop of ice-cream (you get to choose between yuzu and matcha).
