If you donโt know where to head to this coming weekend, Iโve got you covered!
Known for its all-day breakfasts, traditional weekend roasts and kid-friendly space, @cafemelbasingapore has opened yet another outlet at Mount Sophia, near Dhoby Ghaut.
Retaining the structure of an old chapel, the ambience at @cafemelbasingapore was super lovely and tranquil - spacious, brightly-lit, posh indoor seatings with tall ceilings. You can also opt for an idyllic alfresco dining.
Hereโs what we tried:

Rich, thick and flavorful tomato soup๐๐ป.
๐ง๐๐ก๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐ข๐๐จ๐ญ๐ญ๐
Consisting of strawberry, basil oil, white balsamic and multigrain toast, itโs light, refreshing and very appetising!

With roasted peppers, mandarin, potato, chorizo, chimichurri.

Super crispy wings with mild rojak flavour, topped with peanuts and cucumber. This is really unique and a must-try for all first timers!
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ
Served with pumpkin puree, kale, sauce vierge, fish cracker & ikura. The freshness and flavours were really on point!

Limited portions available and exclusively available only on the weekends, I just have to give this a try! Iโd roasted beef ribeye (200g) served with roasted vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and beef jus. Was pretty disappointed as I personally think the beef was slightly on the tough side and the Yorkshire pudding was super hard!

Served with chocolate sauce & fresh berries. This is super good! I love it when the lava cake comes warm and the interior is molten and flowy with chocolatey goodness๐!

Highly recommend @cafemelbasingapore for their good food paried with a lovely ambience.
Formerly known as Mr. Fish & Chips in PoMo, this stall has since shifted to a quiet coffeeship hidden amongst HDB flats in Toa Payoh. Prices at $7.80 each, choose between their Lightly Battered Pacific Dory or Crispy Boneless Chicken Steak, accompanying two sides of chips, mash, rice or coleslaw. Burppler Xing Wei Chua recommends his standard order of Tilapia, who was "Glad to say that the fried fish still features a crisp beer-battered exterior; all that with the Tilapia still having its juices locked in and being flaky and sufficiently moist"

thank you @nparksbuzz for hosting us!
From Quality Kuih, possibly one of the very few Muslim stalls at Chinatown Complex Market. They serve quite a variety of Kuih Kuih including Ondeh Ondeh, Kueh Kosui and even a durian rendition of this.
The Pandan mousse is probably one of the smoothest I have ever come across (it's so fragile that it gets squished by the plastic bag while I tried to push it out); all that on top of firm glutinous rice layer at the bottom that gives a light hint of savouriness. It's probably one of the most substantially-sized Kueh Salat around, considering a piece that's the size of two usually costs $0.80 here.
A Yakitori place specializing in using all the parts of a chicken, you'll get to try some exotic skewers like the chicken heart or even... the chicken spleen? ๐
But everyone is sure to order a bowl of the Toritama Don, a rice bowl topped off with minced chicken, chicken thigh and that perfectly oozy onsen egg.
Mix it all up for a tasty mess and wash it down with the complimentary chicken collagen soup that comes with the bowl. It's a tasty bowl but it ain't anything to write home about. But at $13 bucks, you'll get to enjoy a chill view of Japanese chefs grilling dem meats over a charcoal grill. ๐
Slow roast chicken was very nicely done. Coffee was good too. Prices are reasonable.
$1.90 noodles vs $5 noodles. The small bowl of noodles are perfect for small eaters, as you can choose how many bowls you want. The soup was very tasty and the normal spicy is actually just nice. Had the right level of spiciness and herb. The thai ice tea is homemade and not over the top sweet. ๐

The mixture of prawn n pork created springy texture. With the golden crispy layer, it was just perfect. Awesome!!!
This humble eatery at the bottom of a HDB block in Ang Mo Kio is always packed on the weekends with families happily tucking in, and with good reason. You'll understand why, once you try their signature dishes - Deep Fried Prawn Ball With Pumpkin & Butter Sauce, Black Currant Sauce Pork Ribs, and Dong Po Pork Belly. With pleasant service and honest, good food, you'll be back.
In this vibrant Geylang back alley, dig into pan fried and flatted bee hoon, satisfying in its simplicity and wok hei. The Salted Egg Prawns are a hit as well, served with crispy corn kernels. If you're in the mood for crab, their White Pepper Crab won't disappoint with super fresh crab and pepper sauce that packs a good punch. Dinner's definitely not a bore here!
I like mine creamy in pumpkin puree. Fried mantou buns are added bonus.
"Teow Chew Meng" is a well-known eatery from Penang that has been covered extensively in press and online for their unique cooking. And "Mee Sua Tow" is one of the dishes everyone orders when they come by here. For the smallest serving of $8, you get a large bowl of "mee sua" cooked in a slightly starchy soup that has vegetarian "shark's fin", prawns, slices of garoupa fish, fish maw and mushrooms in it. I personally like the generous heap of coriander, spring onion and fried garlic bits as they help to enhance the flavours even more. This dish is a good representation of comfort food done well, which I know I will crave again for more. There are other items on the menu that I am keen to try as well, so it looks like I'll be coming back here very soon to 259 Tanjong Katong Road.
