📍: Wah Kee Noodles
🍜: Wanton Mushroom Noodles ($3.5 + $0.2 takeaway)
If I could give a million stars to uncle for this tasty bowl of noodles, I WOULD 😋
I ordered the wanton mushroom noodles & added green chilli + regular chilli. First impressions: uncle is so generous! For $3.50, there was SO MUCH noodles, he was generous with the mushrooms & wantons too!
The yellow noodles were very nicely coated with chilli sauce and had such a great bite to it. Since I dabao-ed this, they were initially a bit clumpy but loosened up nicely with some soup.
The mushrooms were so soft and the sauce really added an umami flavour to the noodles too. Wantons were plump too and filled with juicy meat.
I was absolutely stuffed about halfway through & extremely happy with my meal at the end of it. Definitely one of the best bowls of wanton noodles I’ve ever had! ❤️ Probably returning again tomorrow to make another order 🤤

📍: Burnt Cones
🍦🧇: Coconut Lychee, Ube & Dark Chocolate Gelato on Plajn Buttermilk Waffle
I have been wanting to try @burntcones since I saw them popping up all over my feed. They’re on the opposite end of the island from where I stay though ☹️ Managed to chance upon them on my long-distance walk one weekend though, was so excited 🥳
Their gelatos are soooooooo thicc and creamy! Our table did find it to be rather cloying and sweet halfway through though.
However, we did unanimously agree that the waffles was the real star here though 🌟 we were silently fighting to stuff as many pieces of waffle in our mouthes 🤪 crisp on the outside, chewy yet fluffy and soft on the inside. As a self-proclaimed waffles & gelato lover, this is definitely one of the best waffles I’ve had!
Service was great too and will definitely return again for the waffles despite how far away I stay 🤍

📍: Kei Kaseidon
🍣: Mentaiyaki Kaisendon ($29.9 on Burpple Beyond for 2 sets with 1 side dish, clam miso soup & salad each)
My absolute favourite & go-to whenever I’m craving for affordable yet delicious chirashi bowl: @keikaisendon.sg.
Here’s why I love them:
1) They have outlets all over the island!
2) Great quality for the affordable price, you even get side dishes (different for each outlet), miso soup that’s loaded with seaweed, clams and bits of salmon & salad tossed in Japanese sesame sauce
3) A variety of mains on their menu to choose from. I always go for either the signature or mentaiyaki bowl, but I visited before P2HA with a friend who doesn’t eat raw fish & it was fine since there are so many other cooked mains to choose from!
LOVELOVELOVE their value for money @burpple beyond sets & will continue to enjoy them! 🤍

📍: PS. Cafe
🍰: Double Chocolate Blackout Cake
The first time I heard of this cake from @pscafe was sometime last year? It somehow reminded me of Hard Rock Cafe’s Mud Pie, in terms of how big & decadent the dessert is! It’s an actual tower of two layers of chocolate cake, that could be 2 slices on its own, and it’s topped with creamy & rich dark chocolate ganache.
I really enjoyed this cake & found myself being unable to put my fork down, despite how incredibly stuffed I was just enjoying this! Personally found the cake and ganache not too sweet, but the chocolate sauce pooled around it was pretty overwhelming! The cake itself was already super rich & the sauce made the dish cloying after a couple of bites. The vanilla ice cream was a big help in mellowing out the rich cocoa flavours though.
I’d say, this is a must try for all chocolate lovers, but be warned that this cake is a meal of its own!

📍: Eventasty 一碗田 Noodle Bar
🍜: Tomato Soup Base (Marinated Beef Shank Noodle & Vinaigrette Ebiko Prawn Paste Noodles)
Enjoyed these noodles before the restrictions tightened again. With #burpplebeyond, these were so worth it for the current sweater weather. The tomato broth was flavourful, warm and comforting; like something grandma would whip up for her grandkids 😌
Out of the two, I preferred the prawn paste one. The balls were QQ and the tiny bits of ebiko were nice to pop in my mouth too! The noodles and prawn paste absorbed the flavours of the tomato broth much better than the beef shank as well.
Will definitely be returning to try the Hot & Soup soup base!
🍗 Fermented Soya & Parsley Chicken Karaage ($12)
We were starving so decided on the karaage for an appetiser too. The fermented soya lent a slightly tangy flavour to the salty yet tender chicken pieces. Delicious!

📍Reiwa Soba Honten
🍜 Reiwa Pork Soba ($12)
I’ve been WFH since the lockdown last year so I haven’t been able to drop by @reiwasoba.sg at their location in Kelantan Road. To my delight, @reiwasoba.honten opened an air-conditioned izakaya with minimalist Muji vibes right next to Bedok Reservoir a while back! My friends and I made an impromptu visit there for dinner just last weekend.
If you’re making a random visit without seeing reviews from others, it’d probably be tough to decide what to order. The menu offers a list of food items and a short description, without any visual guidance. Knowing that their pork soba was a must-try, I had my heart set on it & my companions followed along!
The freshly-made buckwheat soba has a really nice bite to it and the pork slices were a tad hard to chew on although they were thinly-cut slices.
What makes their soba stand out from others in Singapore is their dipping sauce! Instead of the usual tsuyu dipping sauce, Reiwa Soba serves it with a dashi made out of chicken, fish and seaweed that’s mixed with chilli oil!
The chilli oil added just a nice hint of spice to the salty dashi mix, which the soba noodles soaked up well🤤 no complaints except that the dipping sauce tasted bland towards the end. Could be that the ice/water from the noodles ended up diluting it towards the end of the meal.
I know it’s an izakaya but there was a larger group of men enjoying their drinks while we ate, which made it hard for my friends and I to catchup and truly enjoy our meal because the place was so small and the sound echoed off the walls so loudly.
Would I return? Yes definitely, I thought the food was authentic yet reasonably priced for the quality and serving portions, but I’d time my visit earlier on in the day instead.
